For Fonz

I been submitting to smiling pussy for a while and all was good but then:

"Error!
Your submission could not be accepted for the following reason(s):
Your Site's URL appears invalid, as it has returned the response "500 Unable To Connect". "

Been having this for a week or two and was hoping it would just go away but no luck. :(

Any ideas??

I contacted my host about this and they replied that it was probably because someone used the Powerstorm IP you're on to break in to their server so they blocked that IP. Still haven't got an answer back to my question if it was possible to remove that IP from their block list.

For now you can just PM me your sites, with title/description/category and I'll get them up by hand.

Hmmm thats weird. How can someone use my IP to break into a server?

I meant the IP from the powerstorm server where your sites are hosted.

Yeah so that is the IP for my site right? Thats what I was trying to ask. :)

Virtual hosts jam a lot of different users onto the same IP. The world would be a better place if each independent user had at least one of IP of their very own. Ask your host if you can get your own IP (and hope that Fonz's host doesn't have an entire IP range blocked). If they can't, I believe/think Colo-cation (cd34's company) gives IPs for free if needed. IPs are a commodity though. I mean, they're not gold, but hosts do have a limited quantity and don't readily hand them over to virtual accounts. You can usually expect to pay at least $1 per month per IP at the virtual hosts who are willing to allocate them for you.

I'm still trying to get that block lifted (some of my own domains are on that same IP) but so far they don't seem very eager to do so. Maybe it's time to move some things...
