Hostive.com SUCKS

I've been hosting with hostive.com since about July.. and the guy cut me a great deal and I was happy with my serivce.

then they they sold the company a few months back. For almost a month now, I have trouble FTPing to the server and first i tried the phone number on their page.. the guy told me it was no longer the number for hostive.com. I would send emails.. after a few emails, they replied. I replied back, and it bounced back.

I can't get into my mysql database right now. its fucked. Its been this way since the weekend. and the FTP only works sometimes which is a pain in the ass since I upload new galleries on a daily basis.

So i post on another board, asking if anyone else has any trouble with hostive.com. a rep from hostive posts asking me to contact him on ICQ. I do, and he said 'one sec..' and that was all i heard from him the whole night. no explanation, no apology, nothing. I still cna't upload my freaking gallery i needed to submit tonight.

I'm not one who likes to bad mouth others, but this is just shitty service, and I just wanted to give a warning to anyone else who may be contacted by anyone from Hostive.com, that their techincal and customer support sucks greatly.

Just when you think you finally got something right, it's wrong.

Just found out this morning and am in the process of swithcing over to webair. Thanks Bryan w/Hostive.com. |angry| Now I'm emailing every TGP / MGP (70+) which I have a partner account with so that I don't get blacklisted.

Sortlinks,

Bryan is full of shit. I icqed / emailed him for 3 days straight with no answer. I spoke with someone with intimate knowledge of the situation (i'm not naming names) who told me pretty much that hostive.com is toast!

Move on my man and don't look back. PM me and I can give you details

He's right, Bryan is full of shit and is about impossible to get an answer out of. I highly recommend ditching them. If you need your mysql, I'll give you the ICQ of someone involved who will help you. You can't afford to be down like this, the guys I switched to are reliable and he is on ICQ practically 24/7 and looking out for me. |thumb

Check these guys out!

Beaver Bob 2005-11-18 09:01 PM

lets put it this way, when the guy gave me a backup of everything on the server it was a week old. everything is gone.

I would keep that 30 day money back receipt handy. There is always talk here about once a month of someone going the cheap hosting route and then moving to new hosting again. I used them, and my honest review. User panel was nice, its has nice features for adding new sites and IPs etc. But my site was slow on their boxes. I just thought it was a DB problem but was never able to narrow it down. I mean the site was small as hell at the time (1 meg) so what else could it have been? I had to put in a help ticket almost everyday for 5 days. They responded to the problem but it never seemed to get fixed. I had to go back to my old hosting company. All this nightmare to try and save a few bucks. I use Nakedhosting now and never ever have issues with them. I would say after this, one thing I learned. Once you find good hosting, even if it cost more then the next guy, stay with them. $10 a month or $30 a month who is counting when the site is down.

very true. My sites are no longer with hostive and even more.. now I am looking for quality dedicated hosting which will be as fast as possible and affordable...
I am with some serious offers now,
and I hope I'll make a right decision...

I'm assuming your talking about Webair. If that's the case, I can show you positive / negative reviews of most of the adult hosting companies out there!

juggernaut 2005-11-20 10:48 PM

I'm sure you can. I'm not saying anything bad about that company in fact I stated that they have very good support and a great back end but the hosting did not work for me. There are plenty of people here who use them with no problems what so ever. All I was saying was don't base your hosting choice on price because the old saying rings true even on the net. You get what you pay for. Some times you get luckly and a $10 host works great, some times a $30 host works bad. Just make sure you read the refund policy as its the only thing that can save you your money in the end.

Hostive.com 2005-11-29 04:10 PM

Hey guys, Bryan from Hostive.com here. We had an issue with a single shared server that I am assuming you were on. We will issue refund for the downtime. Problems have been fixed now. If any of you still want to stick around let me know and we can get you compensated and back on the server.

I apologize for the problems. If you have any questions email me or hit me up on ICQ.
