When are the Lights

and Christmas Decorations going up?

I think mine will go next weekend, the weather will be just as nice as this weekend, plus I hate the idea of doing them in November.

Ours are always up for Thanksgiving night. But, they need some work. And, they are a work in progress until the 1st of December :)

Looks like I might not be getting any this year.
My house has been sold. We originally planned on a moving date of Monday. In the past week I have learned of a few problems on the legal side of our purchaser, so Monday is out now, but have been told it can be anytime in December or 1st 2 weeks of Jan. :(

So, it won't be worth putting any up at this house. If I move they could be put up as late as Xmas eve eve.

Oh the joys of moving house.

So ya'll don't keep your Christmas lights up all year long?

Kassidy 2005-11-26 12:59 PM

Maybe on Sunday if I can talk my husband into it! I live next door to a Griswald house so anything we put will pale in comparison but I like them up early anyway. It kick starts the season since we get a real tree and that doesn't go up until mid-Dec.

Surfn 2005-11-26 01:08 PM

John you or Nate can come put mine up too :D

juggernaut 2005-11-26 09:35 PM

I dont put them up. We are allowed to in the condo, but if you screw up the siding they want you to pay for it. With my luck they'll blame the last persons crappy job on me when I can finnaly get out. But I do place them on the bushes.

Griswald house? as in Chevy Chase "Vacation" Griswalds? or is this something that needs an explaination to your south of the border neighbors?

As in http://www.christmas-vacation.com :) Sorry, it's my favorite Christmas movie so I had to use it. And remember, before you make any Amazon purchases, go there...it helps the kids :)

Jim 2005-11-27 09:14 AM

I figured out our new lights. Some pulled out of the sockets here and there so they are all fixed now. Supposed to be 57 tomorrow so I'm sure there will be more going up.

lol, Yep DocHolly, Jim has it right. We have to make sure the blinds are closed on the one side of our house or the flashing light show next door may induce seizures when we watch tv at night. It's quite something.... |shocking|

Being in a condo downtown we just see the city lights, anything put outside will most likely be gone the next day. It's not my holiday but I still enjoy seeing all the lights around the burbs.

I do - most of them anyway - illuminates the appliances on the front porch at night :)

You mean they don't celebrate xmas in the gay village?

MindyBlingBucks 2005-11-30 10:39 AM

I don't put lights up on the outside of the house because I'm lazy. I don't get my tree until the week before Christmas because it's easier to keep it alive that way. But my radio station in my car is already tuned into the 24 hr Christmas music station, and I've already started making my presents!

cockNballs 2005-11-30 01:01 PM

my stainless steel festivus pole will be going up any day now

A festivus for the rest of us!

Lori_Anderson 2005-11-30 01:12 PM

I put my tree up the other day and decorated the house... I always do it after Thanksgiving :)

WebairGerard 2005-11-30 03:13 PM

i think this is the weekend
