Turkey Sandwiches
So I just finished off maybe my 10th turkey sandwich since Thursday. I've been putting mine on toast with a little mayo salt and pepper. Nothing else.
How do you make your sandwiches? |

We didn't host the holiday meal, and the 12 of us pretty much devoured the turkey. So.... ....we will be deep frying a turkey for ourselves this evening, just so we can have turkey sammiches. :D |

Same toasted or not, it depends.

on deli italian, with miracle whip, pepper and a little salt on the miracle whip, not the meat and stuffing on top. I have enough for one more, but decided to skip today.

wife cooked a 22lb turkey for 2 of us our 2year old lol She got the only turkey they had left that was frozen the night before thanksgiving. We had plans to visit family in jersey but it snowed. We now has tons of leftovers and she made a turkey pot pie for dinner and making turkey chilli and turkey a la king for the freezer. :D |
I got bored of the toasted two days ago...now it's turkey, bbq sauce on a hogie roll...mmm..that's good.

Generally I like my turkey sandwiches in a Syrian bread pocket with mayo, Italian stuffing and cranberry sauce. We still have enough turkey left for a couple more sandwiches.
My girlfriend brined a 20 pound, fresh turkey this year. It was the most tender, moist turkey I’ve ever tasted. We had a few guests for Thanksgiving dinner but still had tons of leftovers. The leftover turkey has been used for sandwiches, croquettes and soup. I’m thinking I could maybe fit in a little snack now...thing is...I’m not sure if I want a turkey sandwich or a piece of pie. My girlfriend used to work at a bakery...:D |
Turkey, stuffing and little hot sauce to pep it up in a pita.. YUMMY..
|
I brined a 13lb one for myself. It really does make it super super moist!
I froze both legs and thighs, and I still have about a whole breast left too, lol. I've hardly begun :D Usually I make a regular sandwich, cept with turkey. So meat, cheese, lettuce and tomato if I have it. |
Left over Turkey blackend Cajun Style! Washed down with a little Jack Daniels of course. |thumb

I didn't think anyone else knew about brining a turkey. It's the best thing to do if you're putting a turkey in the oven or smoking it. Brining also works for shrimp (15 minutes) and pork chops (add a little sugar for 30 minutes).
I haven't had oyster stuffing in years. Yumm! |
Damn, I didn't have turkey this year. Girlfriend and I weren't into fixing all that food...so kept it simple and had a pork tenderloin instead.
But, all this talk of turkey sammiches has me thinking there may well be a turkey in my near future :D I'd lost track of how tasty left over turkey sammiches are! |
