Puzzled? Post-Nuke problem, maybe?
I've asked on 2 other boards and had no luck, anyone here have any ideas?
Not even sure the title for this post is correct or the thread. Going thru AWSTATS looking at my monthlys today, and found at least a dozen links like this http://cyberlinkxxx.com/xlink/rscott...andriatits.htm in the Pages-URL section. (different .htm's) The problem is: 1. I never created the files. 2. The sub directories and files aren't listed on my site when I look via FTP. (the /rscott/shoots/******.htm part) 3. The links are valid Can anyone give me a clue? |
Test the pages out and see if you get a 404 or if you get another sort of response. Automated site suckers will often take numeric page numbers (say 123456.html) and look for 123457.html and 123458.html) trying to find more (hidden) content. They will more often do that with image files...
Did you ever have a rscott/shoots directory? Alex |
Or..
.. if someone quoted you or cut and pasted a tuncated url form a post somewhere.. that would make the links appear that way.. eg: this url - comes out right...:) http://cyberlinkxxx.com/xlink/rscott...andriatits.htm but if I now copy, cut and paste it... it doesnt come out right. :( http://cyberlinkxxx.com/xlink/rscot.../andriatits.htm DD |
