Mine are working fine - what changed?

plateman 2005-12-03 01:38 PM

fill us in eman

Manual Update - now shows just Category Listing Page and New Links Page

Maintain Category List - now shows 2 main pages, 5 categories and a sub categories page.

Hang on - categories have disappeared

Shit - I think this is just me

Ruh roh...good luck eman!

Think LA runs completely on your server...shouldn't be any script changes unless an upgrade is installed.

Your script he belong to us :D

Interesting ...
My data.categories.txt and data.subcats.txt are both zero length files!!
The same thng happened with data.blocked.txt the other day (I thought that was an FTP error).

Good job I back up every day!

eman 2005-12-03 01:52 PM

I've backed up from my hard disk and it looks ok now.

Anybody got any ideas as to what might be the problem?

cd34 2005-12-03 01:56 PM

did your disk fill up? if it was full, and the file was created as it was being written to, it could have a 0 length.

MrMaryLou 2005-12-03 01:56 PM

Yes your server disk space may be full :)
Note sparky beat me to it LOL

eman 2005-12-03 02:02 PM

Thanks - I'll check with m3server

Yahook 2005-12-03 02:15 PM

IMHO: Eman, if you were able to upload new files then the problem is not in your disk space. But I can mistake of cource ;)

Well, if one's files grow everyday due to updates and additions, and the problem occured today, not yesterday, then yesterday's files are smaller than today's, and it worked fine after being updated with yesterday's files, then - yes, it could be disk space.

More commas needed. I'm out.

Help yourself UW - plenty more where they came from.

Yahook 2005-12-03 03:24 PM

If you're right Useless Warrior then all sites for today can be gone. Because yesterday's update couldn't include sites for today. Unfortunately I don't have enaugh info to help you Eman.

eman 2005-12-03 03:34 PM

Still waiting for an answer from m3server but as far as listings are concerned nothing has been lost. The categories and sub-categories haven't been changed for some time so restoring them from yesterday's backup wasn't a problem.
