Lets remeber that on December 7, 1941, Japanese planes attacked the United States Naval Base at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii Territory killing more than 2,300 Americans. The U.S.S. Arizona was completely destroyed and the U.S.S. Oklahoma capsized. The attack sank three other ships and damaged many additional vessels. More than 180 aircraft were destroyed.

And so the Atomic Weapon Age was born. I guess we taught them :(

Got to finish a little project today that I worked on all evening yesterday. Other than that it's just the usual "doing as little as possible".

When I went home for lunch today there where 8 police vehicles parked in my street with about 30 officers around them (they must have called other police zones since we only have 15 policemen or so). 5 minutes later one of the cops rang the doorbell to ask if I hadn't seen a 10-year-old kid that lived in my street and was missing. I hope they find him, parents must go through hell now...

Anyway, have a nice day.

Seems lots has happened this time of year. Yesterday was the anniversary of the Halifax Explosion of 1917. It was said when the ships exploded you could momentarily see the bottom of the harbour. Who would look at that? Anyway, lots of history.

A lot of bad things seem to happen this week in history, tomorrow will be 25 years since John Lennon was killed.

Ramster, thanks for the reminder on the Halifax explosion, I remember seeing a show on the history channel about it, that was called the largest man made non nuclear explosion in history.

Good morning!! The weirdest thing happened last night after my roomate and I ordered a pizza, we ate it, and almost immediately passed out. Just got really drowsy and went to sleep. The roomate had only been awake for 8 hours at the time, and we both ate the pizza and went to sleep, so I suspect foul play.

Nothing happened though, we both woke up later, and no one had broken into our house or anything!!

This is a sad set of days.. most people my age talk about where they were when JFK was shot or the men on the moon.. mine is the day Lennon was shot for me the beginning of the day the music died, completed 7 months later on May 11, 1981 with the death of Bob Marley.
