vBulletin question

If you do a poll, are users only able to vote once?

Surfn 2005-12-09 06:43 AM

Yes, unless they have multiple nicks.

Dr Bizzaro 2005-12-09 08:50 AM

You don't need multiple nicks.

When creating the poll, at the bottom of the create the poll page, you'll see "Miscellaneous Options".

Under that, check the box that says "Allow multiple choice: Give users the ability to select more than one answer".

You'll be good to go.

We did that with the caption contest for the ad we had in Klixxx - and the good thing is that while you can vote for as many different options as you want, you can only hit the submit button once (so they can't go back & vote again & stuff the ballot box)

I know this board loves quotes. |waves|

Sorry! I did not make my question clear. As an example:

I ask the question:
Who says 'cocksuckers' the most:
Option 1 = Useless Warrior
Option 2 = Jim

How many times can Yahook vote?

Depends how many identities he has. ;) He should only be allowed to vote once per name. I imagine one could vote again if they dumped their cookies, but the board may store that data and eliminate that possibility.

A vote is tallied and the user id is written to a table for each poll. So, each userid can vote only once per poll.

Thanks cd34.
