An old school rant
 

For almost 10 years I've always considered submitting and getting listed to Link Lists or TGP's as a privilege. I never tried to argue or fight with any owners. I never accused them of cheating me by not listing me. I still think that way today. It's a privilege to be listed by the sites I submit to.

Unfortunately there is a growing number of new "webmasters" that think they are owed listings. Just because they took the time to build their piece of art. Forget any rules; they expect to be listed period because the took all of a minute or two to put your recip on the page. I totally and vehemently disagree with this thinking!!!

To all who have listed me over the years may the coming year be a joyous and prosperous one for you and your family |santa|

I totally agree and with relatively few new free site makers taking the time to read and learn (and most important LISTEN!!) I can count on one hand the number of good free site makers Ive seen show up in the last year that I have confidence will make a good living in this biz - the rest - well - they arent getting listed at my sites and they can continue to play with their "hobby"

1st rule in business - don't make enemies unless you have to! These folks are surely shooting themselves in the foot.

I'm with ya Surfn, it's absolutely amazing some of the emails I get. Of course, I just respond back "come post in my thread" and never hear back from most of them, because they KNOW they're assholes and don't want to come out in public with it.

I agree linkster and its getting harder to put up a decent daily update, so many rejects and bans, and the new free site builders are suppose to add new content and style to ones LL and its not happening..looks like I'll be adding more hosted content..

Hey Surfin....good rant...actually I don't see it as a rant but reality in many circumstances. Not sure if you submitted any sites to us but if you did hopefully we looked after you well.

You are right in saying its a priviledge and at times I find it very exhausting to review and try to provide solutions to those who want to submit to us (or others at that). Running link lists or link directories is a lot of hard work as you and others will probably agree with.

Being annoyed with people is one thing. Telling people to shoot themselves in the head and die is quite extreme and less than humane and more inportantly, takes away your credibility as an up standing member of this board. Perhaps Clickbuster should re-phrase or re-state a more intelligent response without making himself appear fanatical, biased or non-sensical.

I would like to wish all of the webmasters who have been listing me a very happy holidays. and also to thes who haven't! :)
