Dunno...but think I'm gonna stay with the Russian fix for a while. Spent the entire day working on computer issues...all is stable again now...don't feel like rocking the boat :D

I think MS may not care what I wanted to do. I woke up last night to my computer rebooting itself and this morning there was a little balloon telling me that there was a critical update installed. I thought I had turned off auto-updates, but I guess not.

Yea, I hate it when my machine shuts down on its own to update...logs me off everything I was doing...that dog don't hunt |angry|

I've got it set to notify me when updates are ready so I can install them myself |thumb

Well windoze kept whining...I wanna be updated...I need my update...there's an update ready...blah blah blah...

So I gave in and installed the ms patch.

On a cool note, I checked out the Russian guys site that had done the interim patch. He advises removing his patch either before or after the ms patch is installed. But, here's the cool part...apparently some folks have contacted him and offered donations as a way to say thanks. On his website, he says if someone really feels inclined to donate something...please donate it to their favorite charity :) That's a pretty damn cool guy in my book |thumb

If I was surrounded by hot Russian babes, I'd feel charitable too. :)

That's the way I have mine setup. That way if it calls for a reboot I can shut everything down first instead of losing projects in progress :)
