By looking at the returned results for a keyword you can tell when google is updating it because the results from the datacentres dont match each other!

Not at all the same thing saucy. I dont think you understand how all this works. Rank pulse will show general shifts in ranking across 1000 keywords that they have selected. There are NO adult search terms in their list making it pretty damned useless for anybody on this forum except for detecting a 'googlequake'.

The dance site allows you to see whether updates are occurring on a particular keyword of YOUR choice by interrogating googles dtacentres seperately and comparing the result. Even a minor change takes 24-36 hours to propagate across all googles data servers. Google do many updates that just affect one or two keywords.

As for 'its happening right now' re read the website and you will find that you should have said 'it happened 48 hours ago'. The dance site shows you the state as it is the instant you press the enter key. Rank pulse is supposed to be updated daily and there is nothing to say when it was last run, however looking at the chart as of this morning there are only 18 daily bars after Jan 1st and today is the 20th......

Think I will stay with what I got thanks!
