how are IFRAMEs viewed to TGP owners?

I've been playing around with making galleries which will use iframes.

But I seem to recall that many tgp sites were against frames in use for submited galleries. So I wanted to know if a similar dislike existed for IFRAMES.

thanks

Iframes have been know to get submitters banned in the past.

Malicious exploits mainly.

genomega 2006-01-23 11:47 AM

They are to dangerous to allow.

guestcam 2006-01-23 02:47 PM

is it me or are those completely vague statements? Are you saying that using Iframes makes vicious scripts and the like EVEN more dangerous??

IFRvideo 2006-01-23 02:51 PM

Real answer

Do you mean a frameset?

If that is what you mean, make a standard entry page that leads to it.
Also, put all the info (keywords, etc.) in the noscript section of the base frame.

A real answer, and I didn't have to pay friends to make icons for it.

Allowing IFRAME to be used on TGP galleries would make it far too easy for cheaters to swap out the original frame content for malicious code after the gallery had been approved.

For the sake of clarity. If you use an Iframe on a submit to one of my TGP"s or my LL's you will be banned. That isn't vague. I know most of my friends feel the same.

yes thanks for the clarity. See in this post, I actually know two things I didint learn from your first post in this thread.
1. you ARE a site owner who accepts submissions
2. you WILL ban submitters who give you galleries with IFRAMES

thank you
PS: and thanks Toby for giving me a reason why they arent liked. I can see the logic in that reason why. now I understand why I wont be using IFRAMES in any gallery I submit.

GonZo 2006-01-23 05:11 PM

Prime example of why Irames arent allowed is becasue fucks use em to load spyware.

Yep, unfortunately Iframes, javascripts, etc have been abused so much that it's just not worth accepting it...they're all on my blacklist so you can't even submit galleries that contains it.

Best thing is to build a nice clean gallery.

Vendzilla 2006-01-23 07:40 PM

Most tgp scripts will filter out those with IFrames and javascript and simply delete them, the webmaster will never see them.

Tommy 2006-01-23 10:15 PM

I agree with genomega

they are to dangerous to allow and thankfully VERY EASY for a bot to spot

any galleries with Iframes found on Tommys are immediately removed and puts the submiters partner account up for an review

it sounds a little hard but almost all the time they have exploits in them

lately I have seen a few with the adult friend finder ads in them

Vendzilla 2006-01-23 10:50 PM

I just fixed a friend PC, it got infected with some adware full of crap from adultfriendfinder
