How far is Alexa behind?
 

I know, not a real accurate tool but, I am just curious as to how far do you think they are behind. I have to assume their charts are not in realtime but...I could be wrong.

I've wondered the same thing, and as best I can tell from comparing to my own stats the run about 72 hours behind, give or take 24.

Personally, I think the Alexa numbers are becoming less and less accurate. I think fewer surfers, as a percentage of the whole, are using the Alexa toolbar which is where they get much of their data. The increase in market share for FireFox is also cutting into that user base, as the toolbar is IE only.

Jim - at the bottom of the chart they usually have the date the data was compiled - in the case of the traffic charts I was looking at today they were from Jan 22nd. Keep in mind that since they run the chart line to the end of the month that there will always be a huge dropoff at the end for the days of the month not included yet
