Anyone using link up gold on their link list?

http://phpwebscripts.com/linkupgold/features.html

Features looks great for what it's priced. One thing I don't like is the look of links, but I think that can be changed.
Here's the url to live demo

So anyone have any experience with it?

I am familiar with that script and many others....for this one, I know they are used a lot on many sites (mainstream). Keep note that this script is designed to be more of a portal and has what I feel is really over-kill on the plugins -- unless you plan to use most of them.

Also be prepared to work a lot of hours on modifying it to get it to your own site design. This script has a massive list of templates and includes to figure out and work with.

The price is good, it's just that its going to take a lot of coffee and time to put it all together to your design specifications.

I tried Link Up Gold, but as netgoonie jsut said, the sheer effort to customise the script to suit my site, just wasnt worth it.

Maybe take a look at K- Links

K-links looks nice, do you use it and where?
If anyone knows of any good link list script about 100-150 bucks please post it here.

If you are ok working with divs and style sheets, there is one that has been around for a very long time with a company called Gossamer-Threads which has two program (CGI) scripts:
  1. Gossamer Links (This is their mainstream links script)
  2. Links 2.0 for $150 but I think you can use this for free - might want to confirm this though and its upgradable to Gossamer Links. Dont let the drab default style of it scare you, its very design flexible.

As theboyzlist mentioned, you also have k-links as an option as well. There are a ton of free scripts but if you are serious about running a link site, make sure which ever one you go with, make sure there is a good track record with them and good support network (this is so critical).

I use Link Up Gold on www.sexysmutlinks.com. I like it well enough but like others have said, it takes FOREVER to customize. The support is awesome but would I purchase it again? Probably not. It's just to complicated to install and get your pages functioning like you want.
