Dannicash Galleries - I need to Vent
 

ok so i have to watch the twins today

I set everyone up in the kitchen and I got my laptop

I needed something easy to do on the laptop so I thought I would download some gallerys from dannicash

I start downloading zips after about 90 the site is down
(just the part that has the gallery downloads)

so since I cant download no more then I start unzipping the files

Images are called from folders that arent there
I got script errors from a js script
the gallerys call a css file that isnt there

and the link codes
they are different even on the same gallery
I found one gallery with 3 different link codes
some are
file:///X|/staff_folders/john_d/index.html
some are
../../index.html
some are
../../join.html

some are just../

even when they get the link codes right I am finding an L once in a while after the xxxxxx

so I gotta go thru the html and look at every link by hand

I feel like just cutting my loses and hitting delete on the folder

I hear ya Tommy. I just keep the large photos, toss the rest, and build my own galleries.

I have run into this same irritating problem from multiple sponsors. It drives me nuts!

Obviously, you gotta build your own galleries to be most successful, but sometimes, its nice to use the zipped galleries on your own domain :-)

The zipped galleries? I never looked at them. The site in general I do okay with.

I do hate companies that offer "shortcuts" and yet they do not.

Tommy there seem to be an awful lot of broken download links and empty zip files from sponsors these days. I'm to the point that I only take the stuff they email me. I very rarely go to their sites because of all the hassles. I even had one sponsor email me the other day notifying me of new hosted stuf. They included the URL and my login info...I couldn't get the damn link to work no matter what I did. |pissed|

I know that we accidently emailed to about half of our affiliates about some new Hosted Free Sites, but the email subject was wrong, and the links in the email were wrong too!

Oopsie daisy!

Someone killed the email before it went all the way out.. There are a few tweaks the HFS still need, and with the main office moving to the new building over the weekend, the fix just hasnt resumed yet.

So Surfn, if it was us, sorry! ;)
