A small rant...

Looks like we get our titles decided for us here. I am seeing the following, for me, and other "small time" posters -

I'm going to the backseat of my car with the woman I love, and I won't be back for TEN MINUTES

A woman is like beer. They look good, they smell good, and you'd step over your own mother just to get one!

Your mother seems really upset about something. I better go have a talk with her ... during the commercial

Now, I don't mind sexualy implicit or explicit for that matter, but can we please have some that fit us girls who don't happen to be into other girls? How about something like -

My guy has the prettiest cock in the world... be back soon.

Yes, I had great sex last night with the man I love. Can't you see I'm smiling?

Anything, really, as long as it pertains to hetero women too, or only (either works for me).

They are quotes from The Simpsons, and change randomly. When you've made over 500 posts you'll be able to put in whatever you want.

tigermom 2006-02-21 12:42 AM

Ummm, didn't Lisa and Marge ever say anything? ;)

Yes, but neither have ever said anything even remotely funny...

When you get to 510 posts you can put whatever you like |thumb

Mom, romance is dead. It was acquired in a hostile takeover by Hallmark and Disney, homogenized, and sold off piece by piece.

Solitude never hurt anyone. Emily Dickinson lived alone, and she wrote some of the most beautiful poetry the world has ever known... then went crazy as a loon.

I'm no theologian. I don't know who or what God is. All I know is he's more powerful than Mom and Dad put together.

It's not our fault our generation has short attention spans, Dad. We watch an appalling amount of TV.

We have roots here,Homer. We have friends and library cards … Bart’s lawyer is here

tigermom 2006-02-21 02:41 AM

Thank you. I needed a smile this morning, and those quotes sure helped :D

Jim 2006-02-21 07:05 AM

They are all Homer Quotes. There is a little Homer in all of us, male or female :)

Jim 2006-02-21 07:07 AM

You guys should feel lucky I stopped at 50 of them :)

Greenguy 2006-02-21 08:43 AM

Is this another one of those "feminist" threads? |couch|

I wonder if Sparky can fiddle with the admin so that we have male & female options?

Jim & I just like Homer :)

tigermom 2006-02-21 09:29 AM

"another one of those "feminists" threads? I wonder if maybe Sparky can create a sub-forum for feminism too, while at the admin panel? ;)

All kidding aside, I love seeing how there are so many female AWM here and at other boards. I don't see any conflict between porn and feminism myself (though some people feel differently about that issue).

It's ok, I can live with the little Homer in me expressd in my title here. As long as he doesn't show himself in the form of a beer belly or a bald head, I'm fine.

Greenguy 2006-02-21 09:35 AM

Your current quote sorta fits my thinking:
"Just because I don't care doesn't mean I don't understand!"

:D

Cleo 2006-02-21 09:38 AM

One of these days I'm going to have to watch the Simpsons…

Mr. Blue 2006-02-21 10:35 AM

Well, looks like you got your topic for tonights radio show. :D

Surfn 2006-02-21 10:38 AM

The bigger this board grows the more trivial complaints are made :D

Simon 2006-02-21 11:06 AM

Actually it seems the board has grown past the "trivial complaints" plateau to the "posts pointing out the trivial complaints" plateau.

Next on the growth spurt will be "post complaining about the trivial complaint posts" which is followed by the "post pointing out the complaints about trivial complaint posts" and then the "posts complaining about the posts complaining about the trivial complaints."

Growth is such bright joy. :D

(yes, I know Surfn was pokin' fun at Tigermon)

Simon

tigermom 2006-02-21 11:15 AM

Hey, it was in the chit chat forum... You want me to make non-trivial complaints here??? |club|

RawAlex 2006-02-21 01:38 PM

Cleo, I would suggest a fair amount of combustables before your first episode. It would be really good to find the first season somewhere and start with that, it makes way more sense when you see if from the beginning.

Alex

Cleo 2006-02-21 01:41 PM

I've seen bits and pieces of them. It just has never held my attention for more then a few minutes.

natalie 2006-02-21 04:32 PM

Yeah I am the same Cleo.. I have seen quite a bit of it though because the rest of my family loves it. Sometimes I can get into it but I usually just start talking and piss em all off or wander off to play wow. :D
I do like the family guy and futurama tho!

Nah man - the early series truly suck balls. Start with about Series 4 where Homer is allowed to be the king of comedy that he is and Marge and the kids are locked in the broom closet where they belong :D
