Watched Walk the Line last night (no spoiler this time)
 

First, I couldn't believe I got it the day it was released from Netflix.

Second, I liked it quite a bit and it did clear up a lot of urban legends about Johnny Cash.

My wife on the other hand said there should have been no Oscar Nominations for the movie. I thought Phoenix sounded a lot like Johnny Cash until I heard the real thing during the credits.

I never knew much about Cash or his songs, but he's really good. One of the best parts of the movies was when he was playing at Folsom.

Saw it in the theatre and I thought it was very good and worth watching.

Great, seems like its a good movie. I'll pick it up!

When I first saw the previews, I was thinking, well it's not johnny cash, of course, was'nt to thrilled about seeing it. But after watching more previews and hearing him talk, think I am looking forward to it. From my understanding, Phoenix even did alot or all of the singing? Good to hear it's a good movie.

He did all the singing and it will come close to fooling you until the credits when you hear the real thing.

But I was always wrong about so many things with Johnny Cash. When I was young, my Grandfather loved him. We would take weekly 2 hour trips to my Grandfather's camp and I had to listen to nothing but Johnny Cash for 4 hours/week.

So, I was wrong about why he wore black. I was wrong about when he wrote the song about Folsom Prison and pretty much everything else I ever thought I knew. My Grandfather had a way to tell a story :)

It is just worth watching to find out what you thought you knew about Johnny Cash was most likely wrong.

I think I am weird, it's just hard for me to watch an actor play another person like the Johnny cash movie. I still have the image of Phoenix playing goofball in signs, amoung his other roles in other movies. But like I said after seeing more previews, it does look pretty good. And like you said, good just to know more about the guy. Cash was an amazing artist.
