What's the meaning of this!!!

Just did this search on Google for "free porn for fucking ever"
http://www.google.com/search?sourcei...r+fucking+ever

and as expected hadafew was at #1 but this is the url it showed
http://www.google.com/url?sa=U&start...afew.com/&e=42

and this same format is followed for all the sites listed.

What's that all about?

I've seen it before. It seems to come and go. It's been happening at times for what, about a year and a half now?

I've heard it described as part of a measuring system used to track clicking patterns and visiting patterns, based on one of googles earlier patents, that calculates ranking in the list based on surfer stickiness to the sites listed. But, that's just one theory.

But, I don't really spend a lot of time studying such things, because there isn't anything you can do about it, and I think it's more effective to concentrate on the things you can influence.

There have been a few wilder theories, related to eventually selling organic results, but again, what could you do about that if it were true?

Linkster or DD probably knows better what the 'official' explanation for it is, they are better at that kind of detail than I. As far as I'm concerned, you can't do anything about it, so why worry about it?

I've not seen it before. I thought it might be something to do wih BigDaddy.

Actually, it probably does have something to do with big daddy, in the sense that I've been hearing more reports of this particular type of google redirect associated with the unfolding of big daddy, but it has been seen off and on for a while now, long before big daddy.

There are lots of rumors about possible tests of new ways for google to monetize and sort and restrict content that are being tried with the new big daddy technology.

But, again, you can't do a thing about it, no matter what it is, so it doesn't make too much sense to worry about it, from my perspective.

that e= term at the end of the url is a js redirect counter that Google uses to track hits to certain positions in the results

They have been doing this since at least 2002 that I remember - and usually is done with more obsolete search terms or phrases

And no it has nothing whatsoever to do with the BigDaddy infrastructure changes :)

/added - and it really has no effect on listings - just one of Googles measuring tools for quality

I have heard more reports of it's appearance since big daddy rolled out, but that could just as well be explained by the theory that more people than usual are looking thru their listings and looking for differences with the new infrastructure, and therefore are seeing and noting more instances of the redirect.

Altho, if it is a measuring system, it does make sense that they would apply it more often to test the usage of big daddy'd results.
