The Hun /Thumbzilla

Has anyone ever advertised on either The Hun or Thumbzilla, and if so what was your conversion ratio?
Also intersted in advertising on Link 'O Rama...is there info on the site?

Surfn 2006-03-14 02:48 PM

The guy that owns Link-0-Rama stops by here now and then. He's a big whore and I'm sure he'll cut you a deal you will love :D

Ask GreenGuy for his rate card |thumb

If you knew why did you ask?

jedd 2006-03-14 03:41 PM

He just replied to my post!! Why does everyone on here need to chime in, when it's not necessary. I asked a simple question and got a lot of wise
ass replies...except from Green Guy. I thought all these farging boards were for help and not to drag your fellow webmasters down!

This is because you asked last week, I replied last week, you asked again in this new thread today & then went back to the 1st thread & read my reply from last week (not to mention that you emailed me this afternoon about prepaid ads as well)

If you follow the time line, you look like you have no idea what you're posting.

Also, while I have you, why the fuck would you think anyone on a webmaster board would care about this little jem:

I'm doing a lot of posting and sometimes loose track of where or what, I've posted...it's still no reason for replies that have nothing to do with a question asked.
Sorry for the hassle Green Guy!

Well then, perhaps you should slow down on the post whoring so you can keep track...and so others don't have to read your mindless drivel.

See, this is primarily a working board. It's also a great community and yes, we do have some fun too. But, first and foremost...it's a working webmaster board. Posting naked pics and asking questions that have already been answered for you ain't gonna cut it.

Yeah, you're probably right...the comment I made about responses, was a general comment about all boards...and I didn't see any responses until today...again sorry for the hassle!

I have advertised on Thumbzilla in the form of buying gallery spots. At the time the spots were 11-20 for I think $240 (but it has gone up now) and I easily made my money back and some nice profit.

Thanks Ramster!!

One thing that might bear mentioning here...

When Ramster says he easily made a profit, readers should take into account that this may be either based on a pre-tested gallery or at least on a gallery built by an experienced builder/submitter.

My point is that your results may vary dramatically from this if you build your very first gallery, pay for a gallery spot and wait for the signups to roll in.

If you're just starting out, and don't have a big budget for paid gallery spots, it might be best to use free submissions until you figure out how to make tgp galleries convert for you.

Now, Ramster may come back and tell you he did that with the very first gallery he ever built and blow my advice out of the water. But I'd wager the other way.

:)

Thanks Simon! I've taken all that into consideration. I was trying more to get a feel, for the two sites. I really appreciate, your helpful comments! :D

You started this thread asking the same question that had already been answered in this http://www.greenguysboard.com/board/...ad.php?t=29638 your previous thread. Now who is the mindless git?

I've had continuous ads running on the hun since 1997. So I know a thing or two about how his traffic converts, what his prices are, which products do best. But you have now destroyed an opportunity of me giving you that info for free.

This is a public board and most of the members don't request specific people to reply to their posts. But of course you knew that.

Have a nice day :D

Ramster 2006-03-15 11:54 AM

Well it is was galleries I make all the time, same style templates. Also their prices have gone up since going to GTS so I have not bought since. Mostly from laziness but also the prices went from $240 to about $400 so that is a fair jump.

So why didn't you just give that info in the first place instead of creating all this tension...that to me would've been a lot easier...that's the last reply for from me on this thread.
