Public counters/stats
 

Is there any advantage to using these services anymore?
I hardly see them anymore.

I use to use statscounter but i fund Tracewatch you need to install it on your own sever and it is way better then any free counter and it is also free

The info you get by stats counter is ok but it is only for the last 100 page loads and this will give you far more info of what your traffic is doing on your site

And for counters that have a image on your page i consider then a traffic leak and maybe more people are looking at it the same way i do

Guess it depends on the context Chris. I still see 3rd party counters on some link sites and tgps. But, you probably wont' find them on free sites anymore. They've been banned from free sites for some time now.

Personally, I get all the info I need from server stats |thumb

Some traffic pumps still take their traffic :D

Hey thanks for the link there. I use StatCounter on www.marktiarra.com cuz it's just on a cheesy Yahoo hosted. I'll try this now.
