Good Wednesday Morning

Up most of the night with that stupid headache. I think it's time to see a doctor. I get at least one of these each week and that seems to be too many.

So, my wife is forcing me to go by calling and making the appointment.

terry 2006-03-22 07:00 AM

Good Morning Jim... Morning GG&J'ers.

I was up at 4:30 for some reason, just couldnt sleep. Trying to fall back to sleep for an hour and a half and couldnt so with the headache that gave me I figured I would get an early start on my day.

Good luck with the doc Jim.

Have a great day!

Spring has sprung |jackinthe but oddly enough, it's snowing |snowman|

I got a lot of work done last night because we canceled the Radio Show & today, I might have to fuck off a bit as I'm having the contractors install one of those huge old fashion TV antenna's on the roof of my house (I think the span is 14 feet) & then, Sabres game tonight |thumb

cluda 2006-03-22 07:08 AM

Love is in the air...

Hey guys..

So the spring began, the sun is shining, it's a beautiful day today... Things will be happening |boobies| :D

Anyway, I think that winter is finally over and it was about time!! |dizzy|

Morning all. Finally getting some work done today, yesterday I did our spring bug control, haha. Pumped chemicals in the walls (for termite control) and then bombed the house with those bug bombs. I was paying an exterminator like 375$/year for the termite treatment and for them to come out and spray for the ants and other creepy crawlies that find their way in the house they want 150$ and that is every 3 months. I can get the chemicals myself (the chemicals I get last 6 months instead of 3) for around 70$ and just do it myself. I had to evacuate everyone to my parents house yesteday while the bug bombs were doing their thing (getting that damn cat in the cage was a lot of fun). I'm getting high off the chemical fumes, but I am back home and getting shit built :)

Good morning world |waves|

It's Spring here too, not that you can tell any difference. :)

Having fun figuring out WordPress the last couple of days. Looked at other choices but that's the one I'm trying on the first blog at least. Actually seems a lot easier than I thought it would be, based on looking from the outside for too long.

GG - Why the big old antenna? Just intimidating the neighbors or will it actually be hooked up? :D

bluemoney 2006-03-22 07:29 AM

Good morning folks |waves| The sun has returned to Athens and we should reach 60 with any luck. Hope you all have a great day :D

It's meant as a distraction. If they're looking up at that enormous antenna, perhaps they won't notice the 15' imported green marble penis statue in the sideyard.

Morning all. Kids have a half day o' school today and I get to attend their parent-teacher conferences this afternoon. Seems like a nice day to find out how my little geniuses are performing in society. I promise not to sit through this one thinking only about how unusually attractive my daughter's teacher is and fanatasizing about having that long legged devil riding my engorged member in the school parking lot. I'll do my best.|thumb

It's the High Def geek in me :)

The local cable company & Fox have no agreement in place, so I can't get Fox in HD without it. Same goes for WB & UPN (until they merge) Then there's the HD feeds & normal station out of Canada that the antenna will pick up.

Throw in there that I have TiVo & thus, can't watch one program while recording another, this does eliminate that problem assuming one of the 2 shows is on the normal network channels (I can watch Desperate Housewives & record The Soprano's & then watch it right after)

It was not that expensive either - the antenna was $99 & the motor to rotate it was $79 (plus $15 for a cable)

I really should start an HD thread here in Chit Chat :D

Fonz 2006-03-22 07:38 AM

Morning folks,

My plane landed about 2 hours ago. Cancun was fun. Unlike my buddies I missed the webmaster gathering in "The City" when Paul Oakenfold played there but I heard it was fun :)
I also crossed Jay's path 3 nights ago when going to the Coco Bongo but hee seemed busy so I just walked on :)
To make a long story short, there was too much booze, I had to pass 3 of the 7 nights we were there, it must have been the heat I guess...

Anyway,

Have a nice day all :)

Cleo 2006-03-22 08:33 AM

Morning :)
Fuck I'm sick with a cold still. :(
Not as sick as I was yesterday but I still feel like crap. Waiting for this morning's cold meds to kick in and then going to get ready for the day.

Going to go over to my neighbor's place in a bit and relax at his pool and Kat and Torn and suppose to come down later today.

Espresso is now being served…

Ramster 2006-03-22 08:49 AM

Good Morning.

In a good mood this morning since my tech guy finally got around to fixing the CMS issues I was having. Helps when you know how to code php I guess. Thank you!

Mornin' y'all,

Cool (60's) but sunny forecast here in Houston for the next few days. We'll be enjoying it while it lasts. Hot and humid aren't not to far away.

Sounds like a great idea to me. We've just joined the HD family, new 52" TV and a subscription to Dish Network. We're still on the steep part of the learning curve.

|coffee is on, help yourself.

Isn't that the part that gets ya? The fact that there is much more involved in getting set up than simply connecting a coax and grabbing the remote. My chums bought an HD tv a couple weeks back and had me come over to attach their new $18,000,000 worth of cables and it was a complete pain in my gorgeously manicured testes. I am steadfastly refusing to go HD until it really becomes worth it, which is years away from what I'm smelling. There just aren't anywhere enough channels offering an HD signal to make it a worthy investment from what I'm seeing.

stuveltje 2006-03-22 10:22 AM

late midday but hya all:) yes i am still around, just working about 4 hours a day and thats it, no working in weekend, i am focussing more on offline things like fam, me and other bizz opportunities:D, i am thinking to spend some middays in my own offline lingerie store, my mom works there and i am thinking to open an other lingerie store, the net is fun but can also be veryyyyyyyyy boring so i am looking for some new things, on this moment i am in learning mode for some weeks already and i have to say , not spending all my time behind the puter is a great thing, but i am still around! I hope you all have an great day and eve:)

In reality, it's just hooking up 5 cords from the HD receiver to the TV - not all that mind boggling.

It's when you're anal like me & you feel entitled to as many HD programs as you can get your grubby eyes to view that it becomes an issue :D

RawAlex 2006-03-22 10:56 AM

Useless, the shift to HD in the US is pretty much on track for 2008 or so. After that, the analog channels will be killed off and all that bandwidth sold off.

The sales of HD tv's is taking off, and as a result the prices of the sets are coming down very quickly indeed. The ED sets (which are actually medium-D, not truly full HD, as they only show 852x480 or something) are getting cheaper:

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...&Sku=P333-4230

I would venture to say that by Christmas 2006, there will be decent sets on the market well under $1000... and by Christmas 2007, that number will again drop likely near the $700 range. Regular-D TVs are now in major selloff mode at places like Walmart, because they know these things are all but worthless now, as they working life span is much longer than available programming will last. Why buy something with a 5 year warrantee when you will only be able to receive a signal on it for 3?

The shift is on bigtime.

Alex

I got nothin'

sue-fl 2006-03-22 11:51 AM

Morning all! We have found a new dog |bananna| We can't get him until Zoey is out of her heat though. He is fixed but don't think it's a good time to bring him in as she is so moody! It's another German Shepherd he's 4 years old and beautiful! He was a Katrina rescue and was in pretty bad shape, but is doing fine now. He should be joining our family in two weeks |bananna|

Now that I have bored you all enough, I'll go get busy! Have a great day all! Oh the dog's name is Chase :D

Morning.. I was up at 130am.. but went back to bed.. too many $$ floating in my head.

Looks like my front yard will be a 75% DYI. I had 4 landscape companies yesterday and got quotes from 7500-22K to redo my front yard. So it will be searching the freecycle for people getting rid of desert landscapes and have free rocks.. etc.. but we'll see how it goes.

Had a nice little farewell lunch with Swedeguy yesterday who's reluctantly leaving today.. |cry| so Sweeedeee if you are logging in from the airport.. Fly well.

Welcome back Fonz.. Heat? Cancun? maybe hot chicas and margaritas!

Not much today.. clean up for offline.. catchup for online..

Have a Good one |waves|

I'm I the only one completely frightened by this concept? :D

For me, back to school nights are a study in how quickly I can leave a room unnnoticed.
