Established Sex Story Archive Websites for Sale
As promised, I'm letting those interested know that the |
Sounds like a nice piece of high-traffic real estate you've got going there, Simon. Good luck to ya. ;)
If you needed an unbiased third party to vouch for your traffic, I could give you a couple of URLs to direct it to. :D |
Simon, would you care to post up an idea of what you are looking for?
Alex |
UW - Thanks! And give me a couple of URLs and I'll add some links for you. Who knows, the new owner may decide to leave them up. :)
Alex - check your pm in a minute for a link to more info. |
Sounds like a sweet setup Simon...best of luck on the sale |thumb

Thanks Mr Yum! :)
Yep, actually it is. When I was getting started I spent most of my time reading and editing sex stories, corresponding with authors about their submissions, and building text-based bdsm/fetish faq sites and discussion boards. Who would have guessed that the spiders would just gobble that stuff up. :D Simon P.S. If I could, I'd reach up to my first post and slip this "l" into "shoud" where it belongs. |

Well, some of it is like GG (and Tommy too, I think) says, part of his success is just from being around non-stop since most of this started. |thumb
I'd say that like with most people who started 'doing adult' say 8 (or more) years ago, a lot of the stuff we built didn't really have a narrowly-defined marketing purpose. We built stuff for all kinds of reasons, and built a lot of different kinds of sites. Then we wound up splitting our time between the ones that we really liked working on, and the ones that just simply 'required' our time. I could try to make a case for it all being carefully planned out. But really, I think there are some advantages that just naturally seem to flow to sites that have longer histories. I sure can't compare the growth of these story sites to LOR or Tommy's (I wish), and I'm definitely not saying LOR's or Tommy's success is just due to them being around a long time. But in the case of these sex story sites, they really did sort of create and grow themselves based on the submissions from writers and requests/suggestions from loyal readers. It's kind of like what happens with good link lists, and it's the sort of 'organic' growth that I'm very fond of. :) |
Yea Simon...it certainly makes me wish I had gotten into this sooner. However, I somehow doubt that my wife at the time would have approved. Actually, had I done it then...I probably wouldn't be here to today to tell the tale anyway :D
Absolutely true...organic growth is indeed the best! And it's still doable...just takes longer and more hard work |thumb |

always put in a lot of time to get things going and then maintain everything. And it may not take any longer either. Hell, eight years is a lot of time to get it together. LOL :D |
Anyone get the XBiz World newsletter?
:)
I'm bumping this to ask a question... Does anyone here subscribe to the printed newsletter XBiz World, and if you do, did you get the latest (April) issue yet? I was told they were in the mail weeks ago, and that they should have been out before the Phoenix Forum at the end of last month, but I know people in several places in the USA (including here) who haven't gotten this month's copy yet. XBiz says mailing time is from 4 to 14 days in the states. I'm not sure how long they'll take to get to other countries. So, if you subscribe and get XBiz World in the mail, please let me know if/when you got your April issue. If you can say where you're located, that would help too. Thanks! |thumb Simon |
I recieved my copy of Xbiz's glossy goodness within the last 2-3 days. Just opened it now. Your ad is the very noticeable 1/4 page ad on p. 106. |thumb

Yep, my copy of da 'glossy goodness' (thanks UW |thumb ) arrived 3 or 4 days ago here on the gulf side of Florida.
And you have a jump off the page black n white ad on page 106 |thumb |
UW & MrYum - Thanks! So it's gotten to Upstate NY and part of the way down the long state of Florida.
The afternoon mail came and still nothing here (or two other locations). I'm running out of things to read in the bathroom, so I really hope it gets here soon. :D Good to hear about the ad visibility too. :) Now I'm wondering if anyone on the west coast, or up in Canada, has seen their copy yet. |
I still haven't seen a copy of XBiz World down here, not even the copy that the person at XBiz promised to mail me personally when I contacted them on the 7th of the month.
But I finally heard from someone in California who got their copy last week, so I know it's gotten out to most subscribers now, at least in the USA. Distribution just took a lot longer than we thought it would, based on what we'd been told. Apologies to those who got their offers in early. We'll be waiting another week or so to let people who are just now seeing the ad respond, since we're just now hearing from folks who only got their newsletter in the last couple of days. Thanks, Simon |
