Important question for all LL owners
 

With new ARS's announcement regarding free trials I need to make some changes to a few of my sites that clearly telling surfers they get free trials through text links and banners. I don't want to piss anyone off, neither link list owners for making changes nor the surfers by misleading them.

Now the question is can I go ahead and start changing the banners and certain text links on my sites before this change take place? Any advice is greatly appreciated.

That is not a problem for me. I would rather you change it early than late. Then, the surfer will be surprised when the trial is free!|santa|

I have no problem as long as the ads stay the same size and the amount of links stay the same. :)


Be careful on changing anything on galleries submitted to TGPs. A lot of them have their scripts set to auto-ban if the script detects the gallery has changed.

Thanks Cleo, I am not even going to touch any of my TGP galleries (I hate to do that but don't want to be banned) and as far as changes goes... "FREE" will be replaced with "TRIAL" and that's about it. I am also trying to keep the banner exact the same size but in a couple of situations I had to change them to a slightly larger or smaller as I could not find the exact same size :( but nothing big (changed a couple of 120x200 with 150x225 or similar). i was wondering, i looked thru my mirrors and i found some that are pr2-3. i have 8 recip links to them.. should i add 4 more and resubmit it? will it have a better chance of getting a higher pr

Thanks DD :) I had only 14 sites that needed to be changed as I never used word free until a few weeks ago. Anyways they are all changed, uploaded, checked and looking good |rasta|

marc, I just looked at your site again and seems like they never appear on the new listings however I did find some of them in their catagories :) I did pm you a list of the ones I couldn't find (I hope you don't mind the pm as I didn't want to post them all here).

Sy: Changing banners are such should be a normal part of business, they only people you might get in trouble with are TGPs who delete on any mod... I don't use any of those, because my banner rotator usually sends them for a loop anyway.

Chowda: Be very careful in adding more links to a page. Rmember that outbound links (not return links to link sites) are counted as sponsor links, and you could end up violating the max sponsor link rules for some places.

Even if they are return links to other link sites, there is also a practical level on those before your pages won't look good any more, and that might be enough of a change to get you removed from link sites. I know my bot flags at a certain point if there is more or less content / images / words / links on a page than the previous time checked.

I don't have a problem changing text links and/or banners.. especially from one saying Free to something else.

I have no problem with it.

I serve all of my ads from a bannerserver. Saves a ton of time when you have a problem like this.
