Link List Designer Needed

Design Gurus |waves|

I need an experienced link list / directory designer. The project requires complete directory design, logo, branding and even a blog skin to match.

If you could leave your details here, I will contact you asap.

Cheers

While I'm not a link list expert per se, I know this industry well enough to guarantee results on my work. I'd be happy to chat with you about your project. Even if you don't hire me, I might be able to help out with some ideas you find usefull. Branding is one thing I do VERY well.

You have some very nice designs there, sexmoviepost.us. Will certainly consider you. Thanks.

MarkTiarra - I know your work. Excellent stuff. Thanks.

Ayla - Just looking at your site. Very impressive.

URBX.COM - Just in case you are looking for a reputable designer who has clout with Link Lists, check out out some of the lists Urb has designed. A couple of examples of his blog work too.

He's over there with you, speaking the Queen's English.

Ps - Hi Kristian. Long time no see. |waves|

Urbs designs are amazing. Have sent an email and left icq message. Cheers, UW.

Great to see you again, dude! |waves|

It looks like Urb is unavailable. So, unless me having his family tied to metal beds in my basement works, I'm still looking!

If you need to see anything else from us to help you make the decision, let me know. We've been doing this since 96 and have done some large projects for some big names. I'm positive we can build exactly what you want. I'm available all through through the week, just hit me up |thumb

Greenguy 2006-04-05 06:02 PM

kristian - I know you know html & whatnot, so why not design it yourself?

Look around at the "popular" Link Lists - mine included - none of them are that glamorous with images & designs & whatnot.

Greenguy 2006-04-05 06:08 PM

Seriously:

http://www.richardsrealm.com/ - he's had that background since 96 :D And the Link List area - http://www.richardsrealm.com/links/ - all text & ads

http://www.dangerdave.com/ - his logo is just a fancy text image & he uses a lot of tables (and very nicely I might add)

http://www.hoes.com/ - I don't think he has an image on his site!

http://www.jays-xxx-links.com/ - fan sign logo, a few ads & a lot of text

http://www.linkforsex.com/ - background image, cute little green dragon, a few ads & the rest is text

You see where I'm going here? :)

kristian 2006-04-05 06:25 PM

Greenguy - I'm tempted, very tempted.

I feel burnt out design-wise at the moment after a network of 10 blogs but might still go the DIY route. Will see how I feel tomorrow on this score. Right now I'm chewing migraine pills lol.

What I could do is get a smart logo designed and figure out the rest myself.

One thing is for sure, I will need a background like Richard's.

Yes, a logo is probably a good idea :)

You know what's gonna happen if you have a 3rd party design it? You're gonna have to code it yourself unless the designer knows the admin that you're going to be using & designs based on that.

So either way, it's probably a DIY job :D

I never thought of that problem.

*reaches for the migraine pills*

I suppose it will feel more like my own if I design it myself. Designers, don't start throwing rotten tomatos just yet. Will be in touch with someone for logo and other goodies.

Hey Kristian...good to meet ya |shake|

I'll pop into your other thread in a few...just decided to open my yap here first :D

I agree completely with doing the design yourself. You said something in the other thread about this being your 'baby'. You don't want someone else to father your child do ya :D

Seriously, the logo branding is a great idea. But, I really think in a year or two when you look back, you'll be much happier knowing YOU built it yourself |thumb

My link site is a very simple in design...obviously built by me...lol. My pornstar site (soon to be link site also) has a custom design and it's much prettier, but I'll never be able to look back at it and know the 'feel' of the site came from within me. Just something to ponder once those migraine pills kick in :D

Hey MrYum! |shake|

I think you're absolutely right. It takes a lot out of you designing a site (just like child birth I think!) but the feeling of satisfaction is well worth the headaches. Will definitely go ahead with it and seek out a logo.

Will look forward to having you in the other thread. Prepare to have your scalp laid back and your brain picked bare :D

Yea, I think that sense of satisfaction will be well worth the process |thumb

Watch it there! My girlfriend has been threatening to harvest some of the hair from my head for years. If you get there first, she's likely as not to kick yer butt :D

Quick word of advice if you're going to design your own sites: take the couple of days to learn CSS and use it instead of html to format your site :) (if you haven't made that decision already)

I worked with megapornlinks.com to turn murray's site from pure html formatting to CSS formatting: 35-65% reduction on page size, which of course translates into quicker build times, lower bandwidth costs and quicker load times for the surfer.

Ditto feversfavourites. Sadly, I haven't gotten around to a full rework of my site yet :) Do as I say and not as I do haha...go hypocrisy!

Most blog softwares you use will work with a php generated CSS, so you probably wont get too much in the way of choice there.

I agree with GG tho - simple = good. A well set up css will give you your cool headings, hover texts, consistent color scheme and other such - GL with it :)

That's some excellent advice there, amareck. I use CSS but don't imagine I could build a site from the ground up with it. If you hadn't posted that I would never have thought about it, so I'm glad you did. Just going to pm you a couple of related and unrelated questions.
