Video trailer size on paysite tour

|waves|

What would you say is a good trailer size on a tour page - something that doesn't burn out the bearings on the bandwidth meter, yet is enough to entice the surfer?

Greenguy 2006-04-06 05:04 PM

If it's a cumshot, 5 seconds is plenty :D

I'd say 15-30 seconds with a lot of teasing & big graphics at the front & end that eat up 25% of the time.

It depends too... if you are trying to tell a story (like the bangbus theory) your trailers are longer. If you are just showing some sample video, shorter could work too.

You might also want to look into developing a "style" if the site is going to get the tour updated regularly with new girls / new adventures / new videos.

I love promoting sites with videos like that!

Hit em with an ad...then just enough to get their balls twitching...then another ad. Cha Ching! |thumb

As usual GG and RawAlex are right even though they can't give you an exact answer. It all depends on how you're trying to sell the site.

We do 45 second sample clips on our tours and they seem to be working pretty good.

Trailers on OC Cash's Black Mother Fuckers tour looks pretty cool.

Roughly 20-30 seconds seems good enough. You could go longer but why? In 30 seconds you can surely give them all they need to see and if you can do it shorter then great. A closing graphic is a good idea for sure.

The one I worked on yesterday is about 25 seconds long at 8.5mb. I think I need to optimize. I wanted the domain watermark to fade in at the bottom, but it shows dead center of the clip. :D The clip I'm toying with doesn't seem as much fun as the ones you see on OC or TGG sites.

Do you think a single edited scene (jumping ahead multiple times to sample the action) is best, or should I mix a few different scenes of different couples into one clip since I really don't want to push multiple trailers?

Ramster 2006-04-07 10:29 AM

One scene is best usually unless you are making 1 trailer for the entire site. Then you could mix it up more and make it longer. If you are making several trailers for various girls then focus on one scene.

If you fading in the watermark having it in the middle is not so bad if it is at the very end.

I think you need to work on that optimization, unless you are selling high-def, lol. The trailers MadHatter is making for our new site are 45 sec long are 2.6mb. What are you using? You can always pm me and I can give you his contact info, sure he could give some suggestions on how to get the water mark placed right, etc. Don't ask me though, I do pics, not video, lol. The trailers he has made have a graphic opening, and closing, so the actual "action" is only 25 sec.

i think a higher def version and a low def version are best. There are too many people that NEED high Def and wont join without it. Keep the low res version looking clean too. ALOHA

what we do is make about 30sec clips with everything going really fast. you dont see more than 2 or 3 secs of a part of the scene at a time. Just little hints at what is in the members area.
