Anyone else think that this forum should be moved higher on the board? Maybe just below 'Link Lists and Getting List'? At least bring it up from this wasteland waaaaay dowwwwn herrrrre.

Do you mean actually looking upon bloggers as a higher life form than "Possible Cheaters"? What a novel idea!!!

But if it got moved, I'd never be able to find it again!!

They could rename it to "Possible Bloggers". ;)

I personally think that blogging is going to replace much of the free porn process as we know it now.

It is like wired magazine:

Expired: PicPosts
Tired: TGPs
Wired: Niche Blogs

I am finding it easier at this point to find and maintain an audience for a blog than for a free site or other types of sites, so I am more inclined to keep going that way.

Useless, count my vote as an yes. I thought I was going to get some nice link trades for my blogs when posted in the sticky thread, but I got quite disappointed because not many probably saw it :(

I agree and I make more money too.

But if it gets popular that means more competition, and if there are more posts it's just one more forum area I'll have to spend more time in, and I already spend half the day on the forum trying to keep up with all the gossip and innuendos. |jester|

I have to disagree & think it should be moved back - here's why:

All along, we've sorted the forums by their popularity as far as posts (with the exception of Prods & Services)

Based on today's numbers, the order should be:
General Business Knowledge
Chit Chat
Link Lists & Getting Listed
Newbies
Link & Traffic Trades
TGP / TGP2 Discussions
I'm Looking For.......
Search Engines
Possible Cheaters
Programming & Scripting
Blogs and Blogging
Adult Help Wanted Ads
Products and/or Services offered

I realize that the Blog forum is newer than most of these other forums & that it will eventually be ranked higher, but for now it should be lower.

I love you all, but I really think we need to look at the overall numbers for this stuff.

So when are you going to pop Chit Chit into the top spot? |huh

When we put the original forums in, we just did it kind of guessing what should be near the top. If we opened today, this forum would have never been put near the bottom.

But if we were to do it by the number of posts, we should look at the numbers starting when the latest forum was created. (I just looked and that would be a pain in the ass) There isn't much of a chance for a forum created less than a year ago to pass a forum created 3 years ago (minus the crash)

Ideally I would like to see "Doing Business" type forums all near the top, except "Chit Chat", that should be right were it is. Then, the learning forums (ie...Programing), spam forums and then the cheater forum. That would be ignoring the numbers but I think either we guessed really well or, maybe the numbers are the way they are because of the spot in the list we put them.

I have to agree. And yes, Chit Chat is located very well because it is immediately noticeable to new members and shows that "would you hit this" type posts don't belong on the General Business forum. My primary annoyance with other webmaster boards is the intertwining of chit chat posts and business posts making it difficult to find the posts one really should be reading. (As I recall, it was the the breakdown of all the separate forums that made me like this board.)

Agreed, I enjoy a little segregation for business purposes.

While it is facinating to know that the majority of posters would "hit it" I don't don't believe it should be, as you said "intertwining". Unless of course they have a colorful pie chart showing how certain countries would "hit it" more so than others, in which case it would be business related.:D

Well, I for one find that this forum is better served being closer to the top... It is one of the four major traffic sources most of us use (link sites, TGPs, search engines, and blogs) and I think that is the key.

As I go along I find more and more potential good used for blogs and blog software, and see much potential in ways to drive traffic and get search engine bot attention in naturally unnatural ways :)

Even though that would just be silly, General Business Knowledge does have 4000 more posts than Chat Chat :D

So how should we rank/list them after that? TGP's still have the most traffic, so that should be 3rd after General Business & Chit Chat?

Maybe Link Lists & Getting Listed should always be 3rd because that is how & why this board got to be so popular.

Cheaters are always a hot topic. Maybe that should be 3rd or 4th?

Prods & Services is actually 5th after Newbies - should it be put there?

The possibilities are endless....and pointless.

This thread reminded me to look at the list of forums again. That was why I said yes to moving it higher. It just looked like it needed to be up higher when I look at the board forums list.

But the truth is...I never look at that list of forums.

I always check the board via "New Posts" and sometime I don't even look at what forum the post was made before looking at it.

Worse, when I do want to look at a particular forum, I still come to the board via the list of New Posts and scan the right hand column to find the forum I want. Or I use the Forum Jump at the bottom of whatever page I'm already reading.

So, I guess my real opinion is...I'm not really sure I care.

I have view new threads bookmarked so it would make no difference to me what order everything is in.

I did notice a pimple on my left butt cheek this morning is there anything you can do for this issue too?
