It all depends what you are doing. Overall I think a good mix can work well to fill a members area with inexpensive content and then depending on your site exclusive content for updates... and the tour especially!

So overall yes I think it is important. But it is not the most important thing at all. Tour and presentation can go a long way.

Exactly! There is so much content out there these days that most surfers can't tell the difference, but exclusive has always worked better for us. Also when it comes to promo content for affiliates exclusive works best from experience.

From a pay site perspective, content is KING.

Killer exclusive content that your members can not get elsewhere gives you an advantage on retaining them. It also attracts more affiliate webmasters to your program. (look at BangBros or any of the hot Single Girl Sites for instance)

Exclusive is definately the way to go. I agree give them something that they can't find anywhere else and they will definately stay.
When I sign up to a program the first thing I look at is the tours on their sites..I like the tours that has some pictures and a free preview video something that you can click on that dosen't take your right to the join page. Show the surfers as much as you can without showing too much just enough to reel them in and get them interested enough to buy a membership. ok did that make sense I think its bedtime for me..LOL |yawn|

We started in this side of the business to keep control of our content

we were sick of making content for other people for little reward so its 100% exclusive only for us

we dont think watering our site/s down with content from all over would work for us
