Localization?
 

I have a local client that wants more Local SE traffic, been telling him thats pretty tough as the net is world wide. But I know I've heard about localization, just dont know how to go about it, or what the possibilities are. I realize I can target with paid ads, but he's too cheap for that right now. Any one have any info or links?

Any local search engines that you can get into or listed on with a link trade?

Plop your site on a local TLD, like .au or .uk.

Would work if the site was in one of those countries..:)
