Going To The XBiz Summer Forum? Post Your Info Here!

I'm going to the XBiz Summer Forum & that's why it's important to the board |thumb

Seriously, as I've been stating since it was announced, I feel this event will be much more "webmaster" friendly then a certain other event that's being held a month later during hurricane season :D

So I'd like to get a list together of who from the board is going like we've done for past events (example)

Please post the dates you'll be there as well as the hotel you're staying at. If you're hanging around for a couple days after, like me, make sure you post that info as well. Example:

I'll be in Vegas from 7/11 thru 7/17 - 3 days at the Hard Rock & 3 days at The Venetian

Also, if you know of a party that's going on that is not listed on the XBiz Forum Events Page, please PM me the info.

All the info that you'll need for the event can be found at the XBiz Forum website |shake|

|roses| I love when people come to visit!!

I know that the Palms will be the scene of a party offsite in the private rooms overlooking Rain. I do believe there is also a tour being planned by Playboy Extreme for the new Playboy club.

Then there is always the Chops Cash staff meeting at the Pink Taco -- date to be determined.

I'll be there and goddess knows i displace enough air for 2. So i'd say technically 7/11-7/14 at the Hardrock.

Greenguy 2006-05-18 09:47 AM

docholly - you gonna be staying at the Hard Rock?

...and I want to go to a staff meeting!!!!!

Tart 2006-05-18 09:51 AM

I'll be in late late on the 10th, and not departing until late on the 15th. Once again, I'll be staying in my own private room at Chez Holly's, although if my last trip was any indication, I will not be in it very often or very long.

its nice to see a REAL webmaster running a show

dont forget Helmy had a link list before any of us

I have a lot of respect for webmasters like helmy that started out small, like the rest of us.

Just a regular guy down in the trenches trying to sell a few memberships to pay his hosting bill :-)

Torn Rose 2006-05-18 10:35 AM

Unfortunately we can not make this show, but we are planning on going to Xbiz only shows in the future, this summer will be our last show that is non Xbiz in the foreseeable future, Xbiz seems to have a better attitude towards us lowly webmasters and their magazine is actually worth reading.

RawAlex 2006-05-18 10:35 AM

I was actually looking at booking this one the other day, I can get packages from here to vegas at pretty good rates... so I am a looking...

Alex

CamZ_Dan 2006-05-18 10:39 AM

Lisa and I will be there. We are ariving on the 9th or 10th and leaving on the 15th. We will be at the Hard Rock.

Look forward to seeing you all there.

Rhiannon 2006-05-18 10:58 AM

Me and Timbo will be at the Xbiz show. We live in Vegas so we probably wont be having any hotel rooms but we will be there every day of the show. Can't wait to meet you all there.

So does that mean you are going to leave LonGiland and come to vegas???? :D

Chop Smith 2006-05-18 12:14 PM

While my plans are not written in stone, I plan to arrive at the Hard Rock on Tuesday and depart on Saturday.

RawAlex 2006-05-18 12:38 PM

Come on Tommy... one show every decade can't kill ya ;)

Alex

Fonz 2006-05-18 12:46 PM

I was going but since the cheapest flight to Vegas in July is around 1,100 EUR/1,410.08 USD I don't think I'm going to make it, just a little too expensive for me :(

I was just telling that to someone yesterday :D

Assuming that ugly fucking dog's recent surgery didn't cut too deeply into my whoring budget, I think the wife is still shipping me out to the Hard Rock on Tuesday. I have no idea when she's allowing me to come back home though. I should probably ask about that when she's in a good mood. ;)

Greenguy 2006-05-18 02:52 PM

Fonz - airfares are up all around - I can remember flying The Bitch & I out to Vegas in years past for $400-500 & this year it's gonna be $800 :(

RawAlex 2006-05-18 03:05 PM

Fonz, you might also want to check to see if you can get to any US city served by southwest and then jump them for the last part of the trip, might change the final numbers a bit... or check with your local package tour operators to see if anyone has an air / hotel combo to vegas... that is probably how I will book it.

Alex

CelticTiger 2006-05-18 03:13 PM

Like Chop my plans are not written in stone but if everything works out I'll be there....like Fonz I'm looking for cheaper flights :)

what does LonGiland mean ???

anyway I would like to but

1) we have 6 month old twins and a 2 year old. They are hard to take care of by yourself for just a few hours never mind leaving the wife with all that by herself for a few days

2) I been to a few shows and as far as business goes, its a huge waste of money. 5k for a couple of traffic trades and false promises... please

3) most webmasters are assholes (myself included)
I got better things to do...... like change diapers, mix formula :-)

4) I hardly get any work done now so a few days are very valuable to me

LonGiland is a long strip of land that starts in Queens and stretches all the way to Montauk. Heavily occupied during the summer months by the nouveau riche trying to be the Olde Riche. and other people trying to escape the nitty gritty city. Does not apply to full time residents. :D

and Reasons 1-4 are all pretty good!! You get a pass.. |thumb

The wife and I have seriously been thinking about attending a show. I know its a 50/50 crap shoot for us as far as networking goes. I really do feel at this point more can be done for us with business on this board then being at a show. Besides I tend to ask alot of stupid questions, on this board it's easy. I don't have to look at the crazed eyes wondering what is going on in my head. I get to look at avatars lol. But the wife wants to hit one up, really bad. But Tommy has summed my fears. I really don't want to spend the money to head to Vegas. Reason being in that place it's way to easy to spend so much more money. I would rahter hit up the one in FLA, less chance of me dropping 1k on a table and wondering 10 minutes later what I was thinking. At least if I hit up FLA, I can always go visit family if everyone seems to be an ass.

Nah, some family obligations among other things...just not good timing.

As much as I enjoy doing biz on the net, I'm still a big believer in a firm handshake and a smile. There's several of those I'd like to deliver face to face in the not too distant future |thumb

And the smile is every BIGGER sans pants :D
