How Many Webmasters Had There Domain Copied
 

Hi All when I bought pornoplentyxxxlinks.com I found out later that there is a porn-o-plenty.com/ and theres a porn movie with a title "Porn O Plenty" does these titles or domains fall under "copy right laws" The Title Of My Site Is "porn o plenty xxx links" It Sounds close to those other title names and domain but is not the same in my book..

But I am Sure Theres People that Has used a popular domain name and changed 1 or 2 letters or whatever to cash in on someones name.

Do any think that I will Get any letters or email Or Just Dont Worry about it and keep putting my links up

There is a guy in CA that had marklinks.com (without the letter "s") After about 4 months all he did was redirect to me.. LOL
Now it seems to have gone missing.

Just buy ever single unused domain name left and then you will not have to worry about this.

Yeah lord knows Dr. B is the master of being fucked by name rippers. Trsut me we have had plenty of names altered a tad and ripped as well. Now I just know better and buy anything remotley close.

I own freerealityporn.com and just found out recently someone bought free-reality-porn.com. Not a big deal though, it is a generic phrase.

I worry about that too. If you're working in one niche...there are only so many word combos that work. eg. Latina Lovelies, Latina Hotties, Latina Babes etc.

I try to check before I register a domain, but when I'm building AVS or free sites, I don't put all that much thought into it other than getting my keywords in there.

A few of you here know me for only running Indian sites and recently I've noticed on Google quite a few variations of my sites names. One wm I know in the UK signed up as an affiliate to one of my pay sites and then bought a domain with a slight variation to get positioning in the SE's for his own sites which aren't Indian ??? .. I'm not happy at all so I just changed his affiliate % of sales to a big fat "0" as when I asked him why he did that he just told me to "F**K OFF".. LOL

I've also found quite a few others who've done this in recent weeks and there's nothing that can be done.. I've had them steal my tags to get good SE positions and then I just emailed their hosts and the wm of the infringement and the pages were taken down. One guy even used names that I'd made up for my models... DUH !!

So that's this biz :( or :)

There is a degree of anonymity on the net which brings about the false belief that you can do anything you like and get away with slapped wrists and maybe a nasty email from your ISP.

Yeah- that becomes more difficult as the people doing the stealing may not be from your own country. And may be 14 years old. :(

I read an interesting web page on the Shields Up website about hackers and DOS attacks.

The gist I took away from it was that the FBI wouldn't even consider getting involved unless the one who was attacked could prove at least $5000 in damages and there would be very little chance of any criminal charges if the person doing it was a minor.

What other answers do you want ? You've bought the domain so use it and if the original domain owner gives you shit then so be it.. In future I'd check names first before buying them..

I bought a .net once as the original .com was owned by a wm who ripped 5 of my sites completely and turned them in to a mega pay site.. I did it on purpose and he's done FUCK ALL.. My domain is #1 on most Google searches and has ended up being my best selling site..
