Are any other Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy fans carrying around their towel today? SykkBoy's broken hearted because he forgot his towel at home.

I moved down to the Keys 10+ years ago. Bought a bicycle and a backpack. The backpack goes everywhere with me and always has a towel either looped over it, tied to it, or inside it. It's only partly a Hitchhiker thing, unless you want to count the fact that the towel is useful most every day.

Oh yeah... and take the screwdriver.

Woukd that be a sonic screwdriver or one of those vodka and orange juice drinks?

I used to do a bit of amateur and semi-pro acting, and a bit of standup. I would never go on stage without a small towel secreted somewhere about my person.

I think the sonic screwdriver is more of a Dr Who item. :)

For hitchhiking, you'd drink the VOJ screwdriver (though beer is preferred ...and eat the peanuts).

Actually, for those with long memories, I was referring to the circa 1984 Infocom game. If you didn't take the pill and get the toothbrush and screwdriver right at the start, you couldn't finish the game.

I've just finished watching the special 2 part that was broadcast around 6/6/6 (part 1 the Saturday before, 6/6/6 part two the Saturday after 6/6/6). Because of the date of broadcast (I mean the first broadcast, I think the US gets it about a year later). the Doctor went up against Satan, who was trying to escape from the prison he has been in since the start of time !!!!!!

Well it was not as good as the radio show, and not as funny as the TV show (they cut out a few of the best jokes) but it was a good movie.

I think the problem was that it had a lot of history to live up to. If you have never even heard of 'Hitchhikers' before then you would probably find it a 'great' movie.
