Warning Page?

I have heard that it's a real good idea to have a warning page. I put one up, and I only put text on there. I was thinking no pics should be viewed until the surfer says there 18. Well it's been 2 months and I notice 75% of all my traffic leaves and never clicks through. Is this normal? Is it that I my hits are not good hits to begin with? I have heard that not all hits are created equal.....

Greenguy 2006-06-23 10:38 AM

I'd change the exit link to lower case & actually use the words "enter here" for the enter link.

cockhungryhoes 2006-06-23 10:48 AM

My exit links says exit, but my "Enter" say free porn I did that for SEO...

No offense but I really hate that
the enter link should say "enter or enter here" and nothing else

of course its your site and you should do what you wanna do

you could always use a image that said enter here and put free porn in the alt tag

Greenguy 2006-06-23 11:02 AM

Yeah, you're gonna get #1 for "free porn"

Why not change the enter link to read "Enter Here For free Porn" & make the exit link lowercase letters so that it doesn't stand out?

Of course, what to do know.

cockhungryhoes 2006-06-23 11:09 AM

Thats a good idea. No I take No offense to anything said. I shouldnt. I have only been in this business a short time and I need to know things to be around a long time. A know it all attude will get you know where quick.. I like the "click here for free porn"

FYI: You guys are great we are all better off helping one in other, not messing with each other hacking and all that...

Tommy 2006-06-23 11:16 AM

I still am not crazy about that

my best results in SE's came from when I just concentrated on building good clean sites

cockhungryhoes 2006-06-23 11:33 AM

Really? What would you go with Tommy. I am new and just read a book about SEO so you know how that is. I know that not all things are really like they say in books, not all things. I cant seems to get listed with google maybe thats why. All others SE's are ok.

SirMoby 2006-06-23 04:23 PM

For me the design would certainly get me to close out instead of going forward.

Blue links on black backgrounds just don't look inviting.
Also the page doesn't show up well on my monitor because there's a lot of white space to the right and bottom.
The over all color scheme seems a bit gloomy for my taste and I'm a babe and pornstar lover.

Useless 2006-06-23 04:38 PM

I'm one of those sick bastards who surfs at 800x600, so your pages annoy the hell out of me. You could easily
it, and it would be fine in my browser.

You still don't have the ENTER link that your surfers are looking for.

juggernaut 2006-06-23 04:42 PM

You are getting no place with google cause of a few things. I'm no SEO expert but from what I have learned. You have no text on your site. Sure you have some but not enough for google to want to eat up your site. I take it you dont even have a site map as you only have one page indexed
site:www.cockhungryhoes.com
And thats going to get your nothing. What I did with my warning was put all the warning crap mostly at the top of the page. IE it's the 1st thing someone will see when they land on it.The rest of the way down is text, links etc.
You have to give the spider something to eat or it will never comeback. Site map is really good to use tho. This is a cool little free program that will create a google sitemap for you and submit it to google so it knows to look at your site

You need the "enter" before the "exit" too many people click on the first link they see. Preferably have "exit" below the "enter" link too.

I am guessing those who leave without looking at the porn are mostly people just hitting the wrong button by mistake. But where are you getting traffic from? If it is 'exchange' or 'paid for pops', a lot of people are probably being sent to your site who don't want to be there.

As to using link text for Google, that is a good idea but make the Enter a lot bigger than all the text. Also pick words that you might get a chance of getting listed on, those ones are too common, using them there may move you up from site 100,705 to 100,700 but what good is that?

Take a look at the enter/exit links on http://www.wildjunglesex.com/free-po...-pussy-licking to see what I mean in both cases.

Useless 2006-06-23 05:35 PM

There's also exaclty 318 lines of emptiness before the code starts on the index page. That's rather funky.

Let us know when you start feeling ganged up on. That's no one's intention.

Doug E 2006-06-23 06:01 PM

Isnt an enter link more common on the left hand side? More natural for a seasoned surfer to lick there I think.

Also you can use a non-nude image on your warning page, something sexy to entice the surfer more. A pretty face wont ruin any children. Grab one from a sponsor and link the image to them. Like a homemade banner.

I agree. Also gives the surfer something to enjoy without being a spoiler. Just be careful. Make sure the image looks like a banner. Wouldn't want to get rejected for having misleading "thumbs" on your index page.

Me too.

Go with Enter Here or Enter "yoursite" Here.

You should have at least an outgoing link to a sponsor. A banner with a line of text would give it something visual to the surfer.

MrYum 2006-06-23 11:55 PM

Wow...yea, I can see why surfers bail on ya pretty quickly :(

Lots of good feedback already...colors, alignment, text usage, HUGE white space in your code...you've got some work to do. That said, you're in the right place to learn |thumb

Just a couple more observations...

You've got google search on your domain as an exit link which is a bit odd.

You're spamming a celeb and a magazine in your metas which isn't very cool.

For the few that do actually enter your site, they're greeted by improperly prepared thumbs that are linked directly to sponsors. Not gonna make sales that way :(

Oh, and unless I'm mis-remembering...isn't a 'hoe' a garden implement...and a 'ho' a naughty girl? :D

cockhungryhoes, this thread is 3 days old and your enter link still says "click here for free hot hoes." Why did you bother posting?

In case you're actually going to do something with that page, make it stickier. It looks more like a 404 page than a warning page to me. Don't even bother worrying about SEs at this point.

cockhungryhoes 2006-06-26 12:31 PM

Sorry guys,
I went away for the weekend. I got lots of great feed back from all of you. I will fix everything, first I will fix my links and the spam meta's. It was honestly never my intention to spam. I am just new, and I dont want to be a spammer. I will center it, I have been working on changing the colorers. I am being picky maybe too picky about the colors, but I really want them to look right. I think I can center it up, I been having some problems with that. Please bare with me as I am also new to Webmastering as a whole.
I don't feel ganged up on. I really really want to make it in this business. I need all of your input to do that, books alone don't cut it. Please keep the input comming and thank you all so much for your advise...

cockhungryhoes 2006-06-26 12:34 PM

What size should the thumbs be, like 90x120? Right now I have 130x180. What about the pics, I should not have them go directly to the sponser? How should they be? Too gallerys that hosted on my site?

cockhungryhoes 2006-06-26 01:21 PM

Ok, I made some adjustments while I re-do everything. White background black text with a little burgundy trim ok you think?

Halfdeck 2006-06-27 12:10 AM

Your thumbs are like 140kb+. Bring them down to ~10kb.

Personally, I wouldn't bother with a warning page. Just put warning text up top on content below, like jugg suggested. If people hit your site from SEs, every page is an entry point.

cockhungryhoes 2006-06-27 11:35 AM

Cool man! Ya I guess I am back to redesigning. Please dont think I am stupid but how do you bring em down that far? By making the pic smaller? I am running into bandwidth n server issues. Does anyone find my site takes a very long time to load? I have been noticing that since my last update.

ecchi 2006-06-27 01:13 PM

If the pix are gif or bmp, convert them to jpg. bmp files are way too big for the Internet and gif files are only good for pictures with only a few colours (line drawings, BW comics etc) or for animated pictures (you cannot animate a jpg).

If they are already jpg, or if they are still too big after you have converted them, you can reduce the 'quality'. Anything above 60% is OK for thumbs, and you can usually go as low as 50% (but only on thumbs, not on your big pictures).

Next I assume you are going to ask how you do all this. Well any good graphics package will have these functions. But I am guessing that as you are just starting out you do not have several hundred dollars to splash out on one of those. So take a look at at IrfanView, I think it is still free. It is a picture viewer, but it does have a few simple picture editing functions such changing image size, cropping images, adding text, and doing the conversions I mentioned above. For many of these things it is as good as a package you would pay several hundred dollars for. In fact for batch conversions of jpgs or for size reductions, I prefer it to the big graphic package I have, it is quicker and simpler to use.

But for you, the best part is it is free (or at least it was, I have not checked since the last time I had to download it when I killed my hard drive).
