WHOIS question
 

Hi all,

On an old thread regarding getting my free sites listed consistantly, someone said,

"If you want to get listed consistently...you'll need to clean up your whois info."

Can someone clarify what this means, what I need to "clean up"?|huh

It might help if your posted the domain(s) you submit your freesites on so someone can possible point out issues with the whois

well, i'd get rid of the milky way galaxy stuff :D

edit: and there's no actual address, don't know if that'll be a problem. I know that's a canadian postal code & whatnot, but someone else might not

Ponygirl hit the nail on the head. The whole Milky Way Galaxy thing made it jump out as most likely a bogus address. Add in Tibor Blank as a name and I thought your whois could use a bit of tidying up |thumb

Thanx for pointing that out guys/and gal, but I'm a bit at a loss. Where do you see this info? I'm trying to find out where I can make these changes on this site and can't find where to update my profile

you have to change it thru your registrar where you bought the domain. It looks like that would be namecheap. You should have some kind of login or admin panel where you can change that I do believe.

That's what I tried to do Pony, at Namecheap but all my info is correct with my real name, address etc. I don't get it.|huh

I'd suggest you get hold of their tech support and ask about it. Whois info comes directly from your registrar, so something is amiss on their end.

Finally found it and made the changes. Hell, Namecheap is a difficult site to navigate.

And by the way, Tibor Blank IS my real name! Trust me, growing up with a name like that builds character:D :D :D
