Exit Links
I've seen many free sites that have an exit link to a non-adult site, such as Yahoo or Google, and I've seen many that do not have an exit link, only an enter link to the site. I haven't found any LL's that require an exit link, only that it point to a non-adult site if there is one in place. Why have an exit link? Is it better to have one? If so, why? If someone doesn't want to continue there's a little red "x" in the upper right corner that will do the trick and there is always that left facing arrow....:D Not a big issue, I was just curious how others felt about it.

This subject has come up a few times. Was going to point you to some threads, but board search doesn't seem too selective these days :(
Sounds like you've already got a handle on the issue though. I'm not aware of any reviewers that require exit links, but if you do have one...make sure it goes to a completely non-adult link. As to the benefits of having one...about the only perceived benefit that comes to mind would be making an effort to provide an exit for those not wanting to see adult content. But, as you mention...all browsers do have a back button and a red X. I'm certainly not aware of any adult webmasters making big bucks with their exit links :D Sooo, bottom line...do whatever you're comfortable with. Personally, I've always used exit links...but I've never required them as a reviewer. |
I started making free sites with them, but recently have not put exit links. I have not been rejected at all by any lists, so I guess it is okay. |thumb

I've thought of them being used for non-adult products, like software. Either way, it is still a link.
