15 second video clip auto ripper?

Is there such a thing as a program where you feed it a 2:00 video and it poops out 15 second clips? Ive been fooling around with batch processing in tmpgenc but it still requires me to adjust settings for each :15 clip.

Yes, there is. Check out Video Charge. It can automate several tasks like that, and even add a watermark.

Thanks, just got done buying one :) It splits the big clips into 15 second clips automatically and saves them as wmv all in one step |bananna| Turns out I was searching for the wrong thing. A video ripper and a video splitter are 2 very different things lol. Found a good one though. Appreciate the help anyways.

That's true - different things :) But videochrage.com is pretty good, I also use it for several things. There are also a few good splitters available, but the best I have found until now - just for splitting videos - is the AVI MPEG ASF WMV Splitter

Video splitter works well, I just run it through Pinnacle to get the title overlay then use video splitter to split up the movie into how ever many clips I need or whatever clip length I need and it works fast. I split up 3 hours of footage in 1 minute.

I just want to add a note here about (automatically) splitting up movies for use on TGP/MGP galleries or in free sites for Link Lists.

What I want to mention is that there is huge difference between these two things:

(i) automatically splitting a 2-minute movie into 15-second clips, and

(ii) creating a series of 15-second clips that will convince a surfer that he should go look at the paysite.

I see so many movie galleries and free sites where it seems the builders' intention was to just to entertain the surfer (and provide the required amount of content based on the submission rules).

It's an incredible waste of bandwidth to do things that way.

If someone is going to use movie content for free sites and galleries, it makes much more sense to cut your movies by hand, and make sure that what you're using is carefully targetted to match your text and to assist in advancing the goal of convincing the surfer that they need to go see the paysite now.

Good point Simon. I actually thought of that myself not too long ago. I was viewing the 15 second clips of Niki Blond, fully clothed and acting all sexy, that I made. Right at the end of one of the clips she gave the HOTTEST little smile to the camera, sort of flirting... she's so damn cute. But the splitter ripped it in half so she started to smile and then it was continued on the other clip... Sort of ruined the effect.

Yeah, thats a problem. I did pay 25 bucks for the splitter but I have only used it on the Niki video so far, just to test it out. After watching the auto-split clips I have to agree with you though. It sounded like a great solution but its really not. Theres too many erotic little things that can really turn me, err... I mean a surfer on that is easy to miss if you dont do it by hand (and pay attention). Every visitor is a potential customer and I have to do everything I can to get them excited about my sponsors site and get them over to the tour.

Anyways, thanks for the input everyone. Thanks for the dose of reality Simon.

Cheers
WB

Hiya WarBot,

Check your Premium Lesbians Porn link on Quality Porn Galleries.
There doesn't seem to be a page at that address (/pages/lesbians/).

I find that I get more signups if the page I link to is there. ;)

WarBot 2006-07-22 10:50 AM

Yeah, I think that may help lol.

Muchos gracious

Not sure if you are around Simon...

I was wondering what tool you would recommend using to cut clips this way?

And if anybody else wants to talk about the tools they are using to cut videos clips like this (picking the beginning and end point of the cut), I'd love to hear about it.

@Bill
maybe you will find it helpfull: http://newsletter.greatsexcontent.dk...-software.html

Hiya Bill |waves|

I'm no expert when it comes to editing movie clips, not by any means, but I'd probably suggest QuickTime Pro. On the Mac platform you just set two selection markers for the start and end of the section you want to use, then choose Edit > Copy. Once you have the section of video you want on the clipboard, you can paste it in a new video window and save it. You can also delete everything you don't want to use (called "trim to selection") and save the remainder as a new name.

QuickTime Pro is available for Mac and Windows.

HTH,

Simon

P.S. The phrasing of your question: "I was wondering what tool you would recommend using to cut clips this way?" tempted me to answer more along the lines of what the painter John Opie said when he was asked what he mixed his colors with. His answer: "I mix them with my brains, sir."

:D
