Those Feisty Irish :)

NOBEL peace laureate Betty Williams displayed a flash of her feisty Irish spirit yesterday, lashing out at US President George W.Bush during a speech to hundreds of schoolchildren.

"Right now, I would love to kill George Bush." Her young audience at the Brisbane City Hall clapped and cheered.

I just found it odd that the Nobel Peace Price winner advocates the killing of Bush. Is this the only way she can see peace in the future?

Well she does say "I don't know how I ever got a Nobel Peace Prize".

My first thought too. Made me giggle out of my chair, the irony was so tasty.

"It's our duty as human beings, whatever age we are, to become the protectors of human life."

Ya think maybe she's just promoting the Republican solution to all things evil?

she was recently featured on a discovery times program called "petra: quest for peace" along side some like the dalai lama, elie wiesel, etc

Quote:

At the Second Annual Petra Conference of Nobel Laureates: World in Danger Conference held in Petra, Jordan, June 21-22, 2006, Koppel interviews King Abdullah of Jordan and five Nobel Laureates — Elie Wiesel (peace), His Holiness the Dalai Lama (peace), Betty Williams (peace), Wole Solinka (literature), and Eric Kandel (medicine) — about the state of conflict in the world today and how they sustain their commitment to effect change.
