trackers/counters ?
Hi guys,
Just about to dive into submitting free sites again, been running around the net hunting down tons of link lists, (maybe yours:) ) but i got one question before i go ahead and submit: What 3rd party counters, if any, are ok to use these days? |
I can't think of any third party counters which are accepted. They tend to break the no java and no cookies rules.
|
ya thats what i was thinking. guess its up to server stats then.
thanks for the quick reply. |
I wonder why link lists don't allow them. They should start to differentiate between good and bad, for example Google Analytics or SexCounter is 100% safe.
|
No counters! I doubt most reviewers (at least myself) would have time to study your code or page to see if you're using a "good" or "bad" 3rd party counter.

Get some server stats folks. There are reasons 3rd party counters have been banned for so long, and I don't see that those reasons have changed. |
What about php counters home made like this? img src="some_image.php"

What's wrong with just using server stats? In my opinion and experience, they're very accurate and show a lot of useful info. |
My server stats are usefull at a certain level of analisis, but I need to know what niche or promo is most viewed and things like that
