link admin still makes change on old host
Hello all,
I recently moved my link list to a other host. That cosed a lot of problems they said they had to reconfigure my script. What did they have to reconfigure? Another thing is that when i want to make a change trough my link admin(I use gossamer 2.0) it still makes the change at my old host. How come? Thanks in advance, Troy |
How long ago did you move your site?
There may still be some propagation issues with the domain. |
Happy hollidays to you to Urb |santa|
I changed DNS about 2 weeks ago but still have troubles with it. Let me try to explain I have to ways to connect to the internet freele.nl which is a company and direct internet which connect me straight to the internet. With freeler I can't get into my file manager with my new host and with direct I can????? Its all so confusing cos the help at my new host said that my old DNS is probably still in the cache at freeler but I phoned them and they said they don't use a cache, that they have a transparent proxy. |
DangerDave is very good with Gossemer Threads. He uses it.
Did you change the host path files? They point to your server path and need to be changed. |
Check your "links.cfg" file and check there is nothing which conflicts with your new host.
Also, do a trace route to your domain. Opening DOS/Command prompt. C:\tracert www.domain.com this will show the route your ISP is taking to your domain. If none of this shows anything out of place, then post your domain here so we can take a look at it. |
Hi Ramster,
Yes I know about Dave he is the one who istalled my script. I hope he is reading this. About the server path I don't know the guys of support said they reconfigured my script but it stil not working |
Urb,
My IP is that of my new host. strangest thing is that I can't see my site anymore when I am conected trough freeler.nl and when I connect with direct internet my site appears. The same as when I try to get in my file manager of my new host I never have access with freeler but when I go trough direct internet I can enter. I cancelled my supscription with my old host 2 days ago and now I don't have access to my link admin. I try to look into my links.cfg but it is not possible because I get the message "please select a HTML file first" I try to ICQ them but although they are online they do not respont. I contacted my former host and am trying to make a deal to come back with them and hope that they will correct my script. I am working on this for 2 weeks now with my new host to get things going and I get sick and tired of it |angry| The host I am using noe is webair.com so you all era warned DON'T GO THERE!!!! |
Troy,
shoot me an email, with your FTP info in it... make sure the title says "DANGERDAVE DO NOT DELETE THIS" :) I will have a look and see if we can get it fixed up. DD |
Hello Dave,
Thanks for offering your help. |shake| But yesterday I got so sick and tired of it all that I dicided to go back to my former host. They still had a copy of my site in their back up so I hope things will be back to normal once the DNS is changed back to them. If not can you look at it then? Thanks in advance, Troy |
