I'm changing hosts

Hello all,

I just want to announce that I'm changing hosts this weekend, so my submitted free sites could be unavailable until the DNS change will propagate trough the net.

I buyed hosting from Dreamhost, and I hope they aren't selling just dreams lol.

The domain is my-asian-kitty.com

So... you Link List owners please don't ban me |thumb

Good luck Kate |thumb

For future reference, it goes a lot smoother if you leave your old hosting in place until after DNS propagates to your new host. If done properly and with no hiccups, completely eliminates downtime |thumb

Thanks for advice MrYum, I'll sure do this way.

Yeah, when we moved GreenguyandJim, I think we were down for 10 mins while Sparky did some path changes for the board.

OK, host changed.

Everything ran smoothly and I'm already seeing hits from several Link Lists in my stats. And as far as I could understand from http://www.squish.net/dnscheck/ it seems that the DNS changes are updating fast. |thumb

Glad it went smoothly for ya Kate |thumb

Yeah it went quite smooth.

One thing is not right, still. When I check on domaintools.com it still returns my old IP in the whois, altought at ping it shows the new IP (which is correct). I checked many other sites offering similar services and they all show my new IP.

And another thing to ask: how should I appeal against the ban at http://bl.usefulscripts.com/ ? I don't use anymore a free host.

Sounds like domaintools just hasn't updated their cache yet...it'll sometimes take up to 48-72 hours for everything to full propagate.

There should be a link on the useful scripts blacklist to appeal directly to whomever put you on the list.

Thanks MrYum, but there isn't any link there :)

Sure there is. My first look at the site, but it seems pretty straight forward. On this page http://bl.usefulscripts.com/blocked/ click on the " Appeals Procedure" link AFTER..

Quote:

# Complete the form at the bottom of the page. ( NOTE: The form will only appear if you selected an item to appeal. You must search for the item and then click on the "appeal" link.)
# The contents of this form will be sent to the webmaster who added you to their Black List.
# The webmaster will review the item being appealed.

Could you please be so kind and show the obvious to me? Just look at the screenshot and please enlighten me

Trev 2006-08-15 05:30 PM

Sorry, but I don't have anything on the blacklist, so I can't help you with that page. It certainly looks like a link is missing, though.

If someone who can help you doesn't notice this thread, I would start a new one about the appeal process. (and include that screen cap). The webmasters that use that list, really have no reason to read this thread.

kitty_kate 2006-08-15 06:17 PM

Trev, you're right. I shall open a new thread.
