Another Sponsor Bites the Dust?

I signed up with macdaddybucks.com back in November 2005 - never recieved a welcome email, so I emailed them and I did receive a response with my user/pass as an affiliate.

Other than that 1 email, I have never heard from them, so I paid no attention to the stats or sales (heck I might not have even put up the links)

So I am checking my sponsors, and this one seems to have dissapeared.. the website is no longer there! |banghead|

I came here to do a search and found nothing ... tried macdaddybucks and variations of it.. so am I the only one from this board who was using this sponsor? or perhaps I just dont know how to search properly, but at anyrate... if anyone knows anything about them please post.

|waves| BTW GG or Jim, you have them listed under the *sponsors page* If they are gone, you might want to update that.

I have "dead" next to them on my list, so I'll have MML clean the out of the db :)

As much as I hate to say it...I think you will be seeing a lot more of this. There are a lot of people trying to make it in the program game and only so many can.

At least... they could send a note or something about it.

That's the problem with all these new programs flooding the market. How do you know they will even last? Why not build traffic campaigns to companies that have been around for years, are solid, haven't missed a payment, and are willing to work with you on anything you need? How much time and money is wasted moving from program to program? There is more to this business than conversion ratios.

Because sticking all your eggs in one basket isnt the way to do business either... I promote your company already (and I am sure almost everyone on this board does.. which makes your content over saturated IMHO)... If i ONLY promoted your company and the ones that have been around for years (and are stable) I will have nothing new to show my bookmarkers. In business we always have to take chances.. Using new sponsors is just one of those things we have to do to stay ontop of things.. at any rate thats my opinion.

Greenie hit me up yesterday to tell me there was a DB problem and some posts were lost.

I'll just make a quick breakdown of what I told Emerald a few days ago.

An email was sent out. Emerald replied that maybe her spam program might have caught it as she didn't get the welcome email either.

Program and sites was sold a very reputable program that has been around for years, are solid, haven't missed a payment, and are willing to work with you on anything you need. << Just copying Becky...

Program was kept open for another 30 to 60 days to take care of trickling traffic.

If you want to promote those former Macdaddybucks.com sites, feel free to do so at http://www.mayorsmoney.com

Btw, Congratulations Becky! ARS was one of my main sponsors back in 1999/2000, and helped me move on to bigger and better things in this industry.

I agree that you sould have new things to show your customers, and it's my job as a sponsor to give that to you. I'll admit, this is one of the biggest failures of ARS over the last 2 years, and I certainly plan on changing that.

It just seems to me that with the group of solid, long standing affiliate programs out there, new sites and content should be easy to get. That way, you can show your customers new things without having to take a chance on these often fly-by-night affiliate programs that open up with a NATS or CCBill back end, offering 1 or 2 sites with a little bit of content.

PS - I'm not suggesting by this post that the above mentioned sponsor is a fly-by-night sponsor.

Thanks Anthony :) I'm very excited to be in charge of ARS again.
