Why most LinkLists don't accept 3rd party counters?

Why most LinkLists don't accept 3rd party counters?

Too many in the past have added popups or worse so they just banned all counters to avoid the problem in the future.

Because they cannot or don't want to differentiate and treat all like possible cheaters :P

the one thing goes in my mind is that when you use a counter you are treated like your host dont offer stats and that you are on freehost or something...

A small group of paranoiacs do that. You can prove nothing to them. That's why your question looks very funny :)

Why would you need a 3rd party counter when you have awstats and/or webalizer on your webhost anyway? 3rd party counters are ok with me, but thereīs no need for them. Itīs just a waste of time adding them to your site and I havenīt seen many people using them either.

I know at least one reliable 3rd party counter - Google Analitics. I would let using it.
