I'd liek to ask everybody here what do you think about this term" CamWhores"..
I KNOW alot of websites out there that are promoting livecams use this term along with other terms in order to attract customers I;d really appreciate your imput about this if you have some time to spare... Thanks |pcwins|

But then, my perception of terms like whores and sluts is probably different than some folks. Personally, I think whores and sluts are positive terms as they describe women who not only aren't afraid of their sexuality, but instead embrace it and relish in it. Those are my kinda ladies :D

Whereas terms like bitches usually piss me off because of my own perception that the term is almost always used in a derogatory manner.

Just wanted to put this out there as I don't want anyone to think I and Nicole are trying to hide anything or be sneeky on the board. Nicole is my wife and she has had some questions that I can't answer or maybe my answers are not what she has expected. I encuraged her to join this board and ask other people. CamWhores isn't a derogatory term when used within the biz, but I wouldn't use it on a page intended for surfers.

My 2¢, for what it's worth.

I'm not crazy about it only because "whores" make me think it's gonna cost. Something like sleazycams or camsluts would have a friendlier feel for me. Not that I'm cheap, I just think most surfers need at least half a hardon before they realise it's goona cost and whip out the credit card ;)

As Madame CamWhore since 1997 .. I can tell you that "Camwhore" is perfectly acceptable language. If you get paid for performing in the nude or sexual acts on a webcam.. then wouldn't you be a "web cam whore" or a "camwhore"? It's a word. Like many words it can be read differently by anyone who reads it or writes it.. but the world of adult webcams, "camwhore" has been a terminology for quite some time. and truthfully i prefer Camwhore (or CamHo as i like to shorten things) to other terms i've heard.

But just my opinion

Thinking about it, I know some Mexican prostitutes that would scratch my eyes out if I called them a puta (whore in Spanish)

As somebody with a few cam sites and knowing the owner of camwhores.com - yes it is a good search term for cams. I dont actually use it - just put a link up to camwhores.com and you will get some hits from people searching for the site. Ywebcams is another biggie... just link to them and you will get hits (and no I dont own either - wish I bloody did all the free traffic they get)

I would have to say, looking at the basic definition of both parts of the word, camwhores would be appropriate. That is, if you are only talking about people that only put on sex shows in front of a camera. If working in front of a camera for a solo or couple type site is just part of the site, the word doesn't fit.

I know for sure that the dutch translation of "camwhores" is used in this business all the time. You can't find a domain that isn't registered and used to promote webcam sites.

For a webcamsite, a name like camwhores could attract customers and webmasters, but if you are looking for female performers, maybe the name will not be so appealing tot them :D

By the way this may interest people on this board. Any domain with a dash and a number at the end does well on google for seo. It seems to ignore the dash and number completely.

I don't really think the term whore applies since they're not having sex for money. just performing in the privacy of their room... :)
