Read the board for info, see what is accepted at link-o-rama and study that. Read the rules at those you are going to submit to. Once you have a feel build a site and ask for opionions about it before submitting. Very nice and helpful people here to help.

I like the avatar.

Good Luck

Currently I have Photoshop 6 as well as frontpage 2003, Are these good apps to use to create my first page. I have access to a multitude of Content, some old and some new. Also, Which submitter(s) should I use. I've had experience with russian submitter and chameleon submitter

As far as niches, I'd suggest that you promote things that you personal like to start, as it's a lot easier to sell a surfer to join a site that you like as opposed to some niche you find odd or uninteresting.

That's a fact |thumb

As to submitters, it really depends on whether you're thinking of doing TGP's or Link Lists. If TGP galleries, perhaps a submitter...but be very careful with it. It's very easy to get blacklisted in the beginning. You'd be better off to stay with manual submissions for a while.

If you're thinking of doing free sites for Link Lists, you'll want to stay away from submitters completely. They're a sure way to get on blacklists in a hurry. With link lists...always do manual submissions...period.

Software wise, I'm a dinosaur...hand coding all the way...and every page validated. There are some decent html coders these days, but I'm not familiar with them...perhaps others will chip in on the subject :)

Photoshop should be fine for image optimization. Personally, I use smaller programs specific to optimization myself. And use Fireworks for image manipulation.

You definately want to define if Yo want long term traffic (free sites) or short term traffic (TGP's) or both, I haven't actually tried TGP's but I have heard that it is a hard way to start out. I do Free sites myself and I have started my 2 LL's which both are small but get some traffic.

My advice is find out what You want to do and then do it, don't just jump in with no idea of where You are going (thats what I did).

Would not touch Frontpage. I know alot of people start out with it but in the end you will find it's a pain in the ass. It adds crap to your sites that you will not need and only ad weight to the site itself. Besides people will scan your site, see it's made by FP and try and hack it. Take some time out and learn dreamweaver if you want a gui based app. It's not that hard and just force yourself on the learning curve. Should take you maybe 1 or 2 weeks to get used to it and you will never use FP again. There are other little programs you will pick up along the way to help you build. One of the most important things, DONT AUTO SUBMIT. You will be very tempted but just dont do it. It will cause more harm then good in the end. Keep up a good relationship with everyone you can. And for me, I try to use the same screen-name on the boards. But then again I only post on this one really lol. Good luck..

Since you have been doing tgp galleries all you have to do is pick 2 similar and you are half way to a freesite. Now tgp galleries are allowed to be very template driven. This is not the case with a freesite. But at least your pics are already thumbed and reduced which saves some time. Build your warning and mainpage then make your gallery pages similar in design.

I agree with juggernaut, dreamweaver is a good way to go.
