Merchant Account ??

Hi all you all knowing guys and ofcourse women :)

i have a big problem - so i faxed and mailed a contract to a paymentprocessor 4 weeks ago, and today was the day i was able to login there

but... all of a sudden it seems like i need a Merchant Account before they can process any creditcards for me :( bummer

yet another one in the food chain to take x% of the income.

well anyways - can anyone direct me towards a place where i can set one up ( hopefully cheap, all the stuff needed the last couple of months to set up a site has kinda made me poor :) )

i really hope someone can help me out - in advance : thx alot|boobies|

Contact Mitch or Cathy @ Netbilling. They can help you get a real merchant account. I am not sure how they would handle Denmark, but, they have helped quite a few people in the past.

Your other alternatives are CCBill or Paycom and setting up a US Based Corporation -- and then the fees that they take + the higher processing fee under the IPSP arrangement. Both would probably require a $750 fee for Mastercard (or Visa, I can't recall which).

Or depending on your volume and what you intend to do with the account, some people start with a Verotel account. However, if you're going to run an affiliate program, you need to probably go with ccbill or Paycom.

hi - thx for the reply. paycom is out of the question - tryed to talk to them 5 months ago and.. lets say i didnt feel welcome.

i am going to have a webmaster program, and my payment processor shouldt handle that - its just that it seems that new rules ( or what ever ) have made them change their program regarding visa/mastercard

ccbill is ok - but i wouldt like the sms billing/euro debt/ phone/ directpay/ ect :)

all it seems i need is the merchant account - can that be from any bank ( like my own in denmark ) or does it have to go though a specialized company or ?

all i need is the account and not another payment processor.. if that can be handled

I don't know about Denmark but in the USA you can get a merchant account at just about any bank that offers business services. Citibank is world wide and they are in some pretty remote countries so I see no reason why they would not be in Denmark. I don't know what the requirements are, I know my sister had a mainstream one for her business and was blown away when I told her I pay close to 15% on my processes. She is paying 4%. Once you have a merchant account you can process CC. No one needs to handle the transaction for you, you can get software for that, and from what my sister tells me, most banks offer it now. So going to any 3rd party to handle the handshake is just going to waste you money. I would think banks have some pretty good software for such things as they are the ones who get hit the hardests. But once again I don't know 1st hand as I use CCBill here. Could not hurt to call a big international branch and ask. What does a phone call cost? Zero as far as I know as most of the banks have free 800 #

thx for all the reply

after i have spoke with alot of people it seems a merchant account with a deal with visa is kinda hard to come by.
Unless you have a large volume - i dont as we are just getting started

if we look aside ccbill and paycom, what other 3rd party processing companies are there to use ?
