Yeah, we have those here in Hellgium, but a little different.

I just feel bad for the little one that's in the back of the second car :(

eman 2006-11-23 05:56 AM

Where is that, urb?

urb 2006-11-23 06:18 AM

I think it's Nottingham.

eman 2006-11-23 06:23 AM

Where's Robin Hood when you need him?

Licker4U 2006-11-23 07:54 AM

Ingenious, and quick...|haha

terry 2006-11-23 08:14 AM

Incredible that people think they can beat it.

docholly 2006-11-23 09:02 AM

that's pretty amusing -- in a twisted way -- that they think they can beat it.

Toby 2006-11-23 09:20 AM

I'm not so sure they're trying to beat it, but just following the bus/van and not paying close enough attention to the signs to be aware that it's there.

Yikes...those things have bad idea written all over em |crazy|

To those that have seen them...is it supposed to be a one vehicle at a time passes through kinda thing?

Licker4U 2006-11-23 01:33 PM

I would guess it's kinda like a carpool lane on an Interstate. Only buses can get through to keep down traffic congestion. On the other hand, it could be like a traffic light I guess. Nah, I don't think that's it. Gotta be for buses, they must have some kind of transmitter that lets the bollards know it's OK to go down.

bluebrit 2006-11-23 02:46 PM

Thats the crazy kind of thing they would do in the UK. Being over in Canada i had almost forgotten how daft things had become back home.

If that is Nottingham it's a fair bet they're in Stafford where i come from too. I'll have to watch out for them.
Wait till you get speed bumps, deliberate chicanes and speed cameras in the suburbs across the US. All designed to slow down traffic and drive you to distraction.
Driving in the UK is going to the dogs and I'll be back there in around 10 days to put up with it again mutter mutter mutter.

SheepGuy 2006-11-23 03:11 PM

Kind of ingenious ;) Shows the advantage of bicycles and public transit in a sort of a totalitarian way |jackinthe

Have fun over there BlueBrit ;)

mr.sexbankroll 2006-11-23 06:36 PM

that's the stupidest thing ever.. people can get seriously hurt with that.. wow.

The funny thing is the small car looks like it can drive around it

Wow that was funny - I am so glad that we don't have those here :)

Maj. Stress 2006-11-24 05:31 AM

Someone should open up a radiator repair shop at that intersection. :D

Or perhaps a bucket of water and a sponge to wash that windscreen and charge you five pounds whether you wanted the "service" or not.
