Email Virus?
 

I get like 10+ emails a day saying.. see attached file.. RE: That movie etc.... all viruses I believe.. so I dont even download them..

Wondering if anyone else is getting these?
I get them from email addresses I know.. like x3scripts.com etc..

Umm......have you been living in a cave for the past week or 2?


10 would be a pleasure. I was getting about 1000 a day on one of my email accounts. (For those who are following, it's down to about 150 a day! Yeah for progress! If it goes down under 50 a day I will be able to turn the account back on.)



Here is the reason you may be getting them from people you know....

Yeah they suck! I have gotten some from big repitable TGP's I think I had posted that maybe a year ago on GG's other board. Apparently they are able to send them using other sites emails|buddy|

get the heart paddles, this ones in bad shape..... JK

Check out www.firetrust.com and use Mailer Washer Pro it solves that iss for the most part.

Extreme John, I have to say thank you....

I downloaded Mail Washer and its brilliant.... I'm surprised my thread got lost so quickly when I screamed that I had bouncing emails everywhere...

6foot4... all I can say is take note of what Extreme John says and if I had only been getting 10+ emails a day and not the hundreds per hour I would have been laughing cause at least it would have been manageable

I cant take the credit for Mail Washer Pro though, Danger Dave turned me onto that one.

X per day or X per hour would be nice. I'm currently getting hit at rate of 100 per min |pissed| I stopped retrieving from the servers and only use encrypted email to and from those who I know.

It started late for me and has turned into an avalanche. And yes I tried filters and spam proggies. |pissed| |ihatespam |whisper| (and virus coders) |lightsabe

I must be doing something right - just don't know what...

In my entire on-line life of over 7 years I only once had a virus, and that was delivered with pre-installed software from a computer vendor (Great Service)! About 2 weeks ago I got hit for the first time by this spyware thing (see prev. post which might have disappeared with board crash), and I never had much trouble with spam emails. Forgot to empty my mail box yesterday, so today there were 2 emails = that's it from 2 days...|peace|

I have been using Mailwasher Pro for months now.. perhaps that is why i have been so lucky with only a few slipping through in the last few days..

My point was that so many people have been taking and complaining about this for weeks, it was kinda hard to miss.

I don't frequent boards much as I have been to busy with work.. so I have only really heard about it from sources like Dell etc.. with there Virus alerts..
