Whats the reason Recip get screwed with Firefox??

When I make freesites I check them using Internet Explorer and Mozilla
With the explorer everything looks always fine, but when I try to see the same site in Mozilla sometimes (pretty often) things get screwed up! Specially the recips, for example the table size get changed, or the size of the fonts, colors, etc.

I'd like to know whats causing those mistakes in Firefox... do this happen to you too, and how can this get fixed?? |loony|

Recips getting screwed up using Firefox

When I make freesites I check them using Internet Explorer and Mozilla.
With the explorer everything looks always fine, exactly as I see it in Dreamweaver. But when I try to see the same site in Mozilla sometimes (pretty often) things get screwed, specially the recips. for example the table size get changed, or the size of the fonts, colors, etc making the whole site look more disorganized and ugly.

Whats causing those mistakes in Firefox??... do this happen to you too, and how can this get fixed?? |loony|

thx!

Easiest way is to make Your own custom recips I think, that way You know exactly what has been done to make them

We don't know, because you didn't show us your code. Chances are it's a missing tag or an improperly styled element that Firefox takes a dump on while the more forgiving IE is ignoring.

Put up a link, chances are it's a very easy fix.

I wouldn't recommend custom recips to a new submitter or someone who is not strong on coding or troubleshooting code problems.

You'll open yourself up to decline's if you are not matching the anchor text and titles properly and you'll need to test those links and make sure they are golden before you submit.

heres an example:

http://www.creamysites.com/fs/hard_in_the_ass/001/

(Check out "sex-bizarre-pics", "blue-wave-links" and "bookmarklinks".)

What I do is: I copy the code exactly as it was provided by the website and then paste it into my code. but the 3 recipes and the whole 'space between tables' change from IE to Mozilla.

Firefox interprets your HTML and CSS exactly as it is. If it isn't correct, you'll typically see it. You could view a drunken homeless man's feces with IE and it would look ok.

Well the reason your recips break in Firefox is because you are submitting to three lists that do not have their recips coded properly.

Here is how they should have coded their recips
Those test fine in FF.

You could either replace those codes and fix everyone of their other category recips or just submit to Linklists that got it right the first time. |thumb I'm not a huge fan of blue wave links as it is...

Thank you Preacher that makes sence, at least now I know Im not doing anything wrong to make those recips look bad.

And I guess "you would hit that" also?

Jollyperv 2006-12-02 03:26 AM

It REALLY sucks when linklists sneak an

tag into their recip, but don't bother styling it....I usually have my h1 styled on the page extremely large, everything in the recip gets completely fucked.

Use

in your recips for the love of god!!!
