CCBill makes it easy to find rebill shaving

Log into the new affiliate panel. Click tools then "view" under the program details columns.

If all ais good it will look like:
Payments for Rebills End After: (Unlimited) rebills

If rebills are taken it will look like:
Payments for Rebills End After: 1 rebills

of course that number will be higher for thes waiting a few months to take the rebills for themselves and at 0 for those not paying on rebills at all. Also PPS will show 0, which is normal.

I suggest everyone go through your ccbill admin and see who's honnest and who is not. Adjust links accordingly :)

Way to go CCBill! Nice way to help us all know who's honnest and deserves our traffic!... now fix that damn admin so it's faster than a snails crawl.

urb 2004-01-07 04:22 AM

backoffbitch, nice info. :)

I gotta go out, but as soon as I get back, I'm gonna check it out.

I kinda like the new ccbill admin.

Thx BoB - what's more amazing is that you had the patience to hang around long enough to find this out :D

I'm not too strong on patience lately but I'm still hangin in there and things are looking good for once:)

My patience is growing thin on their slow stats area though. After making the switch today I could kick myself for doing it.

grzepa 2004-01-07 02:51 PM

good info mate! Im getting all shakey when I hear "shaving" brr....

DangerDave 2004-01-07 03:45 PM

Guys before ya all go nuts...

These are options that are set by the webmaster at the setup of the partnership program. (and yes there are adjustable at any time after that too)

So if the admin says,

Payments for Rebills End After: 1 rebills

then it is likely it was set up like that. Of course this should have been spelt out in the Terms and Conditions of the program you signed up to and you should have read them.

Yes if there is some deception going on.. it sucks, but if its clearly indicated at the signup point then thats tough bickies!

speaking from hunkmoney.com's point of view, this is great news...now there is an ironclad guaranty with proof that we have never and will never shave our webmasters.

CCbill have posted an alert in the stats today which is relevent to this thread - something about 1% of proggies having their settings mucked up in the changeover - so I'd be a little bit forgiving atm on the off chance any rebill settings issues are due to this.

I've known for some time now that CCbill proggies could adjust the number of rebills available to resellers. Kudos to CCbill for finally letting us resellers see who's up to what :D

What they fail to mention is that sites that have NOT set rebilling amounts would not have been affected by this "glitch"..

Basicaly... only way this glitch could happen is if someone was playing with the rebill numbers.

Either way I was able to get proof that programs I have promoted through ccbill were infact honnest :) Which is great!

Wazza 2004-01-07 11:42 PM

Yeah I know mate - simply saying that it might be wise to wait a week or so before making decisions based on what you see there - even though CC Bill does say the issue has been resolved (I'd like to believe that, honestly I would - but they are human).

Actually click now - and by the time it loads it should be sorted |jester|

I found no problems with any CCbill partner programs.

The new admin looks ok to me, and is quite fast to respond. The only thing which is a pain is the calendar you have to set every time you wanna check the month-to-date transactions.

Nice one. :)

I do like the "Breakdown by URL's" checkbox, so I can see which pages made sales across multiple programs.

I like it too, I wish they had an option so I could have it enabled all the time.

Another CCBill question:

is there a way to set a minimum amount so your check doesn't go out until this ammount is reached?
I'm not so familiar with CCBill..

Email accounting@ccbill.com and they'll take care of it. They also do wires.

Read my reply above, I'm from Europe and I have had my minimum payment amount changed a couple of times.

Just a follow up post..

I sent a mail to the email adress above to ask for a minimum payment of $***

2 hours later I got an email back with this reply "Dear Webmaster,

I have changed your break amount to $*** USD as requested, this will take effect in the next billing period."

easy as that :)

Cleo 2004-07-07 09:38 AM

Since the paysite that I'm managing uses CCBill I had to make peace with their new admin.

On the Mac side it only works properly with a Gecko browser like Mozilla so I can't use my Mac's default browser Safari. IE also does not work with CCBill's new admin. Their old admin worked just fine with all my browsers. |banghead|

Turning off Java and all the graphics makes it load nice and fast. :)

Under referred affiliates it shows what they are making not what my cut is. :(

They charge $15 per wire transfer so I have a choice of hoping that my checks don't get lost each week or paying $60 per month in wire fees. |angry|

It fucking logs me out after 5 minutes. |banghead| |angry| :(

Setting up the affiliate side of things is confusing and CCBill doesn't even give the same answers each time for how to setup things. Angel and I ended up having to watch my admin and her admin to see what it was paying each of us to see if things were setup correctly. Trial and error is not the way to have to setup something. |banghead|

Their defaults are expire cookies after 3 days and stop rebills after 3. WTF!

On the plus side they have always been very friendly and have tried to be helpful. :)

Parasso 2004-07-07 09:46 AM

I’ve just changed my minimum payment amount - it wasn’t too hard :D Thanks for advice!

terry 2004-07-08 08:46 AM

Cleo - I hear ya. I just setup CCBill for my sites and boy did it make me full dumb. Options are hidden all over the place, its crazy... but support is there to help you in a second.. so I'm happy. And thanks for the default cookie and rebill tip, gotta make sure I correct that.

Thanks,
Terry

Cleo 2004-07-08 08:52 AM

They are very friendly when you call for support. It seems like one of three people always answers the phone which makes me wonder if CCBill is run out of someone's back room.

Three calls and three different answers on percentages for refereed affiliates. Seems that refereed affiliates payouts are percent of paysite owner's net unlike webmaster's payout which is a percent of gross.

emmanuelle 2004-07-08 04:21 PM

We've been using ccbill since 1999, and have been very happy with them. Having a 3rd party responsible for stats reporting gives our program instant credibility. I really feel bad for the people who spent thousands of $ on mpa2, only to have their affiliates flee due to the threat of shaving.
