I had a similiar confusion because all my text and titles looked tits so I couldn't figure out what was going on.

The change Jel made that I didn't see is that he no longer wants the niche recip to point to the category page, but instead both should link to his index.

I noticed this too and also started linking the whole recip to the index page and my sites have been getting accepted.

so what is the point of having category recips, but all pointing to index?

I figured it wasn't to unfilter filtered traffic, so my first thought was SEO.

... but I get more SE traffic to my cat pages then to other pages, so... |huh

Yep, indeed, the text points to the root for varied linkback anchor text, in my ever futile attempt to claw my serps back :D

Which btw, is the reason for the 2 a hrefs, you lazy peeps that strip out so all the anchor is the same link :p
