Personally I would lose the "Back to main" link, so the surfer sees only your sponsor link on the bottom of the page.
And put some text below that bottom banner.

Try to put more text on your pages extoling the virtues (he he) of joining the site you're promoting. Pretend your telling a friend about this great new site you just joined. Try to talk to the surfer like he's on the phone. If you go to the site and poke around in the tour pages, some good ideas for selling points may pop into your head.
